Outstanding performance at a moderate price.

This AT95E cartridge is enjoyable and fun to listen to. It is well made and relatively easy to install. It produces a cohesive enjoyable sound that is fun to listen to. No part of the sound spectrum seems over emphasised by it. The sound it produces is very well balanced. Deep bass notes are produced with enjoyable clarity and precision. High treble notes are produced with enjoyable clarity and precision. The mid range sounds are also produced with enjoyable clarity and precision. It presents music as an enjoyable whole, but you can still pick out individual instruments in a musical performance, as its presentation of the detail in a musical performance is also good. I have used the word enjoyable a lot in my description of what this cartridge can do. That is, (you've guessed it), because I have enjoyed using it so much. It is also very reasonably priced. I paid around £28 for it. I will get many hours of musical pleasure from this cartridge. If you want good sound from your records, at a very moderate cost, then try this cartridge.Read full review...

AT95 plus Paratrace

I was genuinely sceptical about the Paratrace stylus, but after many positive reviews and a good deal, I jumped in.

Wow! What a great upgrade for the price. Compared against my already very good RP3/Exact/Aria/Naim/KEF set up with my daughters Dual CS-505 2 DL and Rega Fono mini through same amp and speakers, I have to say it is well worth the investment.

Other than the obvious volume differences between the 2 phono stages, the detail, clarity bass and musicality all take a giant leap forward over the standard AT95E. And compared to the RP3/Exact2, I can hear subtle differences but this is on a great modern deck vs a good deck that is 35 years old! I’m even considering a 2nd cart to fit to the Rega, it really is that good!

I would urge anyone with a current AT95E and a half decent TT (say RP2 or equivalent) to try the Paratrace if you are considering a higher quality stylus/cart. Having heard this against a really good set up, it really does give so much bang for your buck. A genuine alternative to a 2M Blue, Rega Exact 2, Nagoaka MP-110 or Goldring 1042. At least 2 of these are over £250.

I can tell you it’s not the AT95P.

Audio Technica AT95E

This is a great product but one design error lets it down. it's a bit fiddly to bolt to the headshell. The shape of the cartridge won't allow the bolts to fit from underneath and secure the nuts at the top, and because the mounting holes are solid rather than slotted, there isn't sufficient play to angle the bolts in. This makes it very fiddly when trying to screw the nuts onto the bolts from underneath if the headshell is fixed to the tonearm. Having said that, once secured, this is a brilliant cartridge, out performing cartridges at twice the price and more. It copes well with all kinds of music. I have no hesitation in recommending this cartridge.Read full review...

Excellent budget cartridge

I have fitted this to my OL modified RB250 arm, replacing a fairly old but fully functioning Shure M75ED T2.
The differences are large, the AT95E giving a much less 'murky' view of the music. It has a pleasing overall balance, with good bass extension.
For the money it is superb. If you want an affordable 'starter' cartridge, I would certainly recommend this.

Great product, all the reviews were correct!

Upgraded an Audio Technica LP3. An obvious improvement, sure it was a bit fiddly to set up, but that’s what hi if is about sometimes. Lives up to its reputation. Nice detail, good stereo separation. For the price, simply fantastic!Read full review...

At 95E

Bought for my old Ariston RD 80 and Linn basik LV-V. The cartridge sounds very good with a tracking weight of 2.5 grams.
Now enjoying all my old LPs. A very good buy, rapidly delivered and very well packed.
There is no downside for a price of less than £ 25.00 Highly recomended
