A great entry into GPS
Finally I can track my training without feeling like I'm wearing a laptop on my wrist or handlebars. Sleek and light design, my Garmin Forerunner has been great fun to use. I was immensly impressed with the GPS accuracey. I do a lot of training in forestry with heavy tree canopy and true to the blurb, my routes have been consistently tracked with great accurately. It even records my 400s around an athletic track! This is a great intro to the Gramin range. My only gripe is I don't like the touch sensitive bezel. This doesn't work well and can make navigation a clumsy process. However, for the money, this watch is great value.Read full review...
A great buy and a satisfied customer
Bought to replace Nike Sportswatch as has more features. Like the additional features and analysis available through Garmin Connect. Dislike the shorter battery time.
Excellent watch, thouroughly recommended.
Heven't got close to using all the functions yet but up to now have found it to be an excellent watch for running. Surpassed my expectations and would thouroughly recommend the Forerunner 450 to anyone.Read full review...
Great product
Great product. My trainning with it has been very good. The GPS, the Garmin Training Center Software, the Garmin Connect website are great.
Excellent watch for a good price :-)
After a lot of research I decided to purchase this Garmin Forerunner 405. I had read a lot of bad reviews about different Garmins and was a little worried. However, 2 of my friends had this watch and experienced no problems. I therefore took the plunge and also bought one. I have had it about 2 months now and have been very pleased with it. The readout is nice and big and the bezel is no real problem to use - as some reviews state. The best of all is downloading the data onto your PC and reviewing your run data..

Good facilities, but poor battery life and small strap!
I bought the Garmin 405 to monitor cycle rides and walks.
The watch does seem to have some very good facilities, but I have a few gripes.
1. I bought the watch as a used device on Amazon and I was very disappointed to find that it arrived with instructions. Admittedly I was able to download the manual, but it would have been better to receive the instruction book.
2. The watch arrived without one of the straps attached, I found it was very difficult to attach it, which is probably why the seller did not bother. There are a number of Youtube descriptions about how to fit the straps, which shows that it was not just me who found it difficult.
3. When I fitted the strap, I found that it would not fit on me anyway. I am 6 foot 7 Inches tall (2 metres) and my bone structure is in proportion with my height, so the the strap is too small. To date I have not found any availability for a larger strap.
4. One of the worst aspects of the watch is that it does not download its data to Strava automatically. Again there are many blogs about this, which shows it is a commonly experienced drawback.
5. Lastly the battery life is appalling. I set off of a bike ride the other day. I had noticed that the battery life was only 50%, but I expected it to last as I only planned to ride for about an hour. But 40 minutes into the ride the watch powered off. Garmin Forerunner 405 + Heart Rate Monitor
bought this to use on endurance rides with my horse - dvd very useful to set up the watch to my needs.
Makes training a lot more interesting and once I have the heart monitor sorted for the horse will have all information necessary at the touch of a button

this watch is really helped me progress and it packet with features. i was very unsure whether to go for the Nike plus or this. comparing the Nike plus website to the Garmin connect the Garmin is much more professional and works more on the technical side rather than Nike that is more looks based.Read full review...
