Kenwood KA-3500 Stereo Integrated Amplifier

Great Performance, Nice Styling

The Kenwood KA-3500 integrated amplifier is a great bargain for an enthusiast who wants good performance, classy styling, and a potent 40 watts per channel into 8 ohms. In my experience most of the Kenwood audio equipment from this bygone era was well built and provided a pleasurable audio experience. Equipped with discrete output transistors versus audio packs, these amps are pretty easy to work on and troubleshoot, not to mention many people prefer the sound of discrete components.
Overall this amplifier is a good value for the money, just beware the output transistors are sometimes hard to find, although replacements are available that will work excellent with only minor modification.Read full review

Quality build and awesome fidelity and performance in a tasteful package

Though some 40 years old now, these older amps cannot be matched by what you can go out and but new today. Modern stereos are junk. Nothing beats real output transistorized well-build audio. This one has a common problem of distortion in the left channel but I'm a skilled component-level electronics technician who can restore this amp to it's former glory. Not the most powerful at 40 watts into 8 ohms or 45 watts into 4 ohms but the sound is warm and the fidelity is top notch.Read full review

Hidden jewel.

This Kenwwod KA3500 is an amazing Amp. Lots of power and solid features. No frills though. No lighted VU meters. No tuner (who cares?), no walnut case but solid and well made. It was a pleasant surprise to get a good Amp for such a reasonable price. I was lucky and found one that needed nothing but cleaning.Read full review
