Quality replacement parts

Note that these new kits come with Igus bushings to replace the needle bearings that came in eggbeater 3's. These bushings are supposed to last 8 times longer, and are self-lubricating. I do notice however that there is more resistance to spin the pedal compared to the needle bearings. It's not terrible, but certainly a noticeable difference. I was able to compare this by installing new needle bearings on another pair of pedals. I am hoping they will loosen up a bit after a few rides but if they don't, I will be purchasing a set of needle bearings to replace the bushings. The new double-seal, new end-cap design, and the removal tool that you get in this kit make it a worthwhile investment.Read full review...

Some upgraded parts over older OEM.

The bearings are standard and not any different than previous models for these pedals but the end caps are a much better design being that they utilize an allen style socket rather than a flat blade Style. Everything is supplied other than the tools needed to complete the refurbish project. I refurbished the set of 5 year old high mileage egg beater 3 pedals and they are back to feeling the same as if they were brand new. I know some of the Crank Brothers brand products get a bad rap like they're older dropper posts but their pedals are better than pretty much anything else on the market considering the ease of entry and exit combined with their extremely lightweight and strength.Read full review...

Pedals Spin Like New Again.

Wasn't aware this existed until 3 years after buying my Candy1 pedals the drive side got noticably sluggish, even feeling like it was grinding. Found the Chromo spindles rough and the seals outright shot (no doubt leading to the roughened bearing point on the axle). Replaced the axles too and now they spin like new again. Will relube the axle/spindle annually now that I know how easy it is to take them apart and see it that helps rejuvenate the seals too.Read full review...

Great rebuild kit at a good price!

Crank Bros. Pedal Refresh Kit is awesome. Easy to install and its like getting a new pair of pedals at a fraction of the cost of new ones. Do it once a year, I ran my pedals for 6 years and I always thought my shoes or cleats were causing a squeaking noise. Now I ride in silence!Read full review...

When grease is not enough

Crank Brothers pedals are odd in having one sealed ball bearing, and one plastic-on-metal bearing. The sealed bearing does not require routine maintenance, but the plastic bearing does. This kit contains all wearing parts except the spindle on which the plastic bearing rides, so unless there is actually wear on the spindle, this kit will get you very close to new.

That said, after learning the routing greasing is required, and doing so, I eliminated my pedal noise: so this kit is on the shelf until grease is not enough.

Worth the price.

This kit is very simple to install and works very well. I would suggest having access to a bench vise as the new recessed hex end caps have a coating of thread locker and are VERY difficult to install using your two hands. This is the last step in the refresh. It’s definitely nice to get some more use out of these eggbeaters not that the prices seems to be soaring (unjustifiably imho) on new pairs. Read full review...

Could use better instructions

The only issue with this product was they don’t instruct that there’s a c-clip in the newer candies pedals. I nearly ruined my pedal housing using the punch included with the kit.

Quality from Crank Brothers?

You can expect great quality from Crank Brothers. If they make the product that can handle the extremes of what I put my pedals through. The R&D Departments keep the standards up and machining up to par, you can never go wrong.Read full review...

Do not be misled. Not complete for EB 3 and 11.

The description makes you think that the kit rebuilds all egg beaters. Does not include needle bearings to fully redo EB 3 or 11. Had to spend more cash for the needed parts. You need a few of the kits parts like the cartridge bearing, nut and end cap and maybe dust seals. Read full review...

Candy 3 pedals

Perfect! Pedals were in good shape but the bearings were getting sloppy. These made them like new again for way less than a new set
