Time to review the clock purchase
This clock is larger than I expected but that is not a critisim. I found the alarm setting control to be too small for aged hands but as it's not used frquently it is not a problem. The night light is sufficiently bright and not annoyingly blue. Tha hands don't appear to be fluorescent so you do have to fumble in the dark to locate it. All in all, I'm pleased with the time-piece and would go for a repeat purchase if this one proves to be durable. UPDATE. Apologies. The clock hands are luminus; you need to charge them by holding the clock face close to an electric light for 15 seconds.

The alarm works, but is not loud, be warned.
The "snooze" function does work.
No seconds hand - no great lacking.
One AA battery required, only. Battery fits into place sooner if you put the + end in, first, then push on the bottom of the battery. Usually, most would do that the other way around.
Top button is the light (and, the snooze, if in alarm mode) button which pleasantly covers the entire clock face when it's on, which is very nice.
I have not, myself, noticed these 3 clocks putting themselves correct - not even once, but...having set them correct myself, the time-keep is perfectly good enough.
The instructions are pretty good - I can tell that because I didn't throw them in a fire!
