Has all Sullivan's music, but slightly unusual presentation to accommodate Howerd
All good stuff. Introductory scenes with extra characters (not in Gilbert's script) are well done. Persistence of no-singing bride's mother (not in Gilbert's plot) slightly unusual.

Interesting curios.
A good dvd for the G & S devotee, though both are early works and musically callow. Cox and Box was the result of a previous collaboration by Sullivan with another. Some of the character traits and musical ideas we see in later operas are seen in embryo here.Read full review...

A brilliant reminder of a past event.
I like G&S and bought this as I hadn't seen the opera for a while.
