All other solutions will fail - go for this

You need a 16mm masonry drill bit, about 160mm long - I went for the 400mm long one as it was only £4 from Screwfix. 16mm drill bits require a drill with a 13mm chuck size - so make sure your drill is up for it. A mains power drill is best, I used rechargeable, but it took 4 charges of the batteries to complete the job. Drill straight through the plasterboard and into the wall. Screwing in the metal insert is very tight - so make sure you have a good set of Allen Keys - ideally long ones to get the leverage.

4xRigifix screws easily held my entire weight hanging off the TV mount! So it definitely won't drop my 50" plasma. Bargain to boot.

Dot & Dab type wall

I recently had to instal a TV wall bracket with pivot and tilt for a 40" TV in a dry lined wall. These worked just fine! Had a slight issue with one insert not wanting to bite into the plastic plug but got there in the end and the results are rock solid. I would highly recommend them for anyone requiring a similar fix.Read full review...
