What to say.

Bought this one for spare parts, so it saved my 2 other OG modded xboxes. Otherwise OG xbox is great, expecialy if you have modded one with HD AV pack. Easy to mod, and many parts are changable with PC. Noctua cooling fan, 2TB sata drive. IF you plan only to play xbox games, dont go for CPU/RAM upgraded ones. Wont make a difference.
Only thing, if you are planning to get OG xbox and never owned one before. If you can get your expenctation right, it is pretty good console. Those old LAN parties with it and up to 2 players on one.
Can handle to my suprise Morrowind, Doom 3 and Half life 2. On 733mhz pentium III, Geforce3+- performance and 64mb of shared ram. And Emulates quite well, but for emulation, HW upgrade will help.Read full review...

Wasn’t in Good Condition

I got this when it was a bit cheaper, but ended up having to get a new controller as the one that came with it was disgusting!

Anyways, just be careful with the clock capacitor. Upon opening the Xbox I received the cap had leaked everywhere. Had to remove it and clean away the corrosion. Make sure to do the same or you might find that your Xbox doesn’t last too long!Read full review...

"OK" video game console, but may want to consider alternatives...

I bought my XBOX as my first video game console (our family has had consoles, but this was the first console to be purchased by myself). I think I purchased my XBOX at least partly due to the fun experiences I had already had with XBOX, but also because there were games that I wanted to play that I had not been able to play until that point. I think for the first few years I had this console, which was back when I was much more into video gaming, I really enjoyed this console overall - the graphics, controller, and hard drive all seemed to be big positives. In more recent times though, there just don't really seem to be any XBOX games I've come across that are really memorable to me - I actually only have a few XBOX games now (I think the most I ever had was like 13-15 games, perhaps not a lot to most gamers, but considerably more than what I have now), but even those few games I have don't really impress me all that much anymore, perhaps the best one being Rallisport Challenge 2, an awesome racing game. In comparison, I think the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo Gamecube, together, have more games that I still enjoy playing and find more memorable. So, overall, I would rate the XBOX's game selection as "average." I have now experienced XBOX, PS2 Slim, and GameCube as of this year (I own a PS2 Slim as well, and my family has a GameCube), and I think all three consoles have their strengths and weaknesses, but I think the XBOX, despite it's power and cool looks, would have to be my least favorite of the three consoles; it lacks the amount of standard features seen with the PS2 Slim, like DVD playback (requires a separate package); it's much bigger and heavier than the GameCube and PS2 Slim; and it is the noisiest of the three consoles (not super noisy, but noticeable). The XBOX has it's positives though - it can pump-out some amazing graphics, as seen in games like Project Gotham Racing 2 and Forza Motorsport; it has four standard controller ports verses the PS2 Slim's two standard controller ports; you don't need to purchase memory cards since it has an internal hard drive (unless you run out of hard drive space and want to save more data); it is reliable, seeing it hasn't really changed since I got it in (I think) early 2006, or somewhere around that time - worst thing I think I can recall so far is the drive door recently started to stick, but using a q-tip and rubbing alcohol on the drive pulley seemed to fix that issue (the sticking issue only seems to appear every so often now, though if it does stick, I think generally within a few attempts the drive door will open just fine); and I think, compared to the PS2 Slim and GameCube, it has the best controller design (referring to the "S" controller), as it has a good amount of weight (feels well-made), and is very comfortable to hold and use. Overall, in my opinion, the XBOX is an "OK" console, but I think of the three consoles I have mentioned in this review, my pick would be the GameCube, as, in my opinion, it has graphics pretty similar to the XBOX, but it also has plenty of good games, runs quieter, and is much smaller and lighter. Buying an Xbox

the only thing bout buying used xbox consoles how loong will it work til it tears up?...i used to work at a pawn shop an i know for a fact ( i should know i worked in them) we had 10 or 12 consoles tthat was tore up...lucky i knew what was there problems...either needed to be cleaned or the lazer eye went out ...it cost bout 50 to 75 bucks to order the part..it kinda worth it if your lookin to play xbox 1 games in the future other wise dont get 1...i got this system for my son to play cuz he needs to get use to playin one cuz hes so used to playin a playstation 2 ..lol he really loves them grand theft auto games ...any who always be aware before u buy one , do your research on used consoles .....Read full review...

samsun dvd disk drive problam

there is a lot of good info in this download and i am glad i bought; however, the ad was writen in such a way as to make ME beleave the seller had some sort of cure for my problem. this was not the case. the info only confirmed what i had already realized. as it turnes out that means buying a new dvd drive. what the ad doesnt tell you up front is that if your xbox has a samsun dvd drive and ur xbox wont read the disk all you can realy do is clean the lazer lense, also the download does not tell how to adjust the disk trey on a samsun. i dont even know if you can adjust it. i feel the ad should have informed me of these thangs. other than that i am happy.

The Origional XBOX One of the BEST TO START WITH

When Microsoft built the first X box They did a fantastic job and did a excellent job to all there loyal fans, Incredible games, Fantastic play, wonderful controls, and the best of all built with quality not quantity on mind, If you are lucky enough to own one of the originals. You own a gaming machine of true quality. But to go off topic Microsoft owns the gaming world a true apology, we were used as guinea pigs on the 360, how many paid so much and suffered breakdowns and repairs and still are on previous non jasper motherboards, Now to pay a comment so far it looks like they have done a better, not best but better, they owe more testing, I build full custom gaming systems to equal or rival Alien ware, but due to disability only for family, i called them and even explained what the problems were, free of charge asking for nothing. Because i truly care about the online gaming community, for almost 3 years they gave us 360s that died some as fast as 3 months other just at the end of the extended warranty till they finally (inconclusive so far as all three of my new 360's have yet to survive any of the other systems, my 2006 wii works perfectly still all my psps including the 1000 2000 and 3000 are all running, my gamecube is still working perfect, and the what they call awesome hard drive (120 gig please newegg sells for 50 bucks seagate drives still one of the best of the drives overall, so the little bit of software and a plastic case cost us 150 percent over what should be retail, and still charge the same price when a 500 gig drive is now available for 149) Come on microsoft show care for all your loyal gamers and build us bigger drives you already have the casing mold and you buy volume discount drives you could do us a 500 gig for 170 or less heavy emphasis on the or less and update our 360s to take them or at least a 250 gig for the price your charging for a 120 micro drive in todays tech. And take care of all your loyal gamers making you billions. Bill Gates I hope you read this, no matter what good you do you have to make up for all the loyal gamers your company burned us on, for 15 years I have supported you, with vista you gave us another me, those of us that bought it whether on laptops with no choice or oem or retail you owe us an upgrade at a decent price.

Unfortunatly the xbox itself has problems with reading disks, xbox live still works and the origional xbox is a GREAT unit. With the cost coming down on the 360 might as well buy it, but you'll miss out on some of the games and definatly the flexability of this system. Guess I get what I paid for on a used system. Seller could have included the obvious flaws on the system he was selling, just an FYI

XBOX IS A GOOD CONSOLE.

I give it a 3 out of 5 because Xbox is a nice console, but has alot of negative stuff to it too.

Pros:
1.Graphics are pretty good.
2.Online gameplay is nice.
3.Has a hard drive.
4.has dvd playback compatibility with dvd kit.

Cons:
1.Controller is bulky and sometimes hard to use.
2.Xbox has been hacked silly, i mean yea i think its ok if ppl hack it, but xbox was just hacked too much.
3.Xbox is really big and heavy.

I BOUGHT THE CONSOLE TO REPLACE ONE THAT BROKE IM NOT SURE WHAT WAS WRONG BUT IT STARTED FLASHING AND DIDNT WORK SO I LOOKED TO EBAY TO SAVE THE DAY AND IT DID I WAS ABLE TO GET EXCACTLY WHAT I WANTED AND IT WAS DELIVERED TOO I WAS REALLY EXCITED WHEN IT ARRIVED AND SET IT UP STRAIGHT AWAY IVE BEEN PLAYING IT OCCASIANALY EVER SINCE.
