The best innovation in guitar jacks
This has multi contact points vs the standard fare and as a result has much better structural integrity. The build quality looks standard, the typical switchcrafts aren't flimsy to begin with. Its also smaller than the typical plug. (See Photo Viz. Switchcraft)
The Pure tone design should be the standard. They are relatively expensive probably because they have pioneered this design and you pay the premium for that.Read full review...

Simple innovation, very effective, recommended.
If you've replaced guitar jack sockets, you may well have used Switchcraft brand, and they are perfectly ok. You'll also know that on an electric guitar with a dodgy output jack nothing else really happens when the jack fails. I've fitted several of these PureTone jacks.
Initially the sense of confidence is that the jack grabs when positively when fully inserted, it's not coming out without a good tug.
The claims for the longevity of this product look credible. This makes it in the long run seem less expensive (approx £5 compared to about £3 for switchcraft).
The concept is very simple - two points of contact for both the tip and barrel of the jack.
Claims are also made for better signal, especially in the bass and mids frequencies. I think that this would be more noticeable as time goes on. Standard jack sockets do wear out noticeably. These PureTone ones look very well engineered.
Of course it also makes sense also for the mount / plate the jack socket if fixed so as to be very secure, and maybe a drop of superglue on the nut thread at final fitting - works well forme.Read full review...

Jack Socket Done Properly
This is how a jack socket should be. It's like it has been designed rather than just cobbled together.
You have to get used to plugging in fully - is like there is a second click to overcome before it's fully connected. You soon get used to it. The difference is like with strap locks: once you've been let down you don't mind spending a couple of quid getting it right.
I'm gradually converting all my guitars to these sockets.Read full review...

Pure Tone jack socket
I fitted this to a 1975 Fender Precision bass which was cutting out and squealing frequently. It took less than 30 minutes to remove the scratch plate, solder the Pure Tone socket then re-assemble. Straight away I noticed a considerable increase in treble output, and no noise or cutout when attempting to wiggle the now firmly held jack plug.
I will be fitting Pure Tone sockets to my other basses and probably to my amps as well. Great quality and value at only a fiver each!Read full review...

Very secure jack socket.
Bought to replace a standard style jack plug socket on a Gretsch Jet2 Juior bass which has a problem in that the jack plug had a habit of falling out whilst playing. This appears to be a common problem with this guitar. Swapped for this Pure Tone socket and problem solved. Recommended item. Read full review...

Excellent and cheap stray upgrade
Worked great in my Strat. Sticks out a little into the boat. Thus could be reduced by using washers.
No more crackle as I move the guitar around. Grips the hack really well. Recommended

Tight fit with no buzz
I installed one in my stratocaster. The original jack socket could be buzzy. There is none of that with these. The lead fits securely.
I now intend to fit these in all my guitars.
