Finally!

I can at last use my iPhone properly with my car. I have no idea why BMW make one add an expensive additional cable to be able to use iPhones with their cars but there you go. Expensive but works

Required for the connectivity you’d expect

It’s frustrating that you have to buy a specific, and expensive, cable to get the functionality you’d expect - especially considering the vehicle has a USB port!
However the cable is of good quality and does give the connectivity you’d expect.
I wouldn’t risk the 3rd party ones, as it’s not just as simple as a splitter, the cable has a chip in it - of course it does! *rolls eyes*.

Expensive Rubbish

Does not work in my 2014 3 series, one plugged in, iDrive does not see it despite setting the phone to recognise USB devices, so don't buy is my recommendation. :-((
