Pricey, but worth it

Thought long (a year) and hard about this because of its price,but knowing I didn't have the skills to keep my turning tools accurate and sharp, just using a grindstone, took the plunge. I shouldn't have agonised over it for so long, because now my tools are sharp, and repeatedly so. It's not cheap, especially when you start adding in the various jigs (which do make life easier). The unit is heavy (15kg) but is solid. For the price, I'd have thought that more than 2 belts could have been supplied, but they're not outrageously expensive (and cheaper ones can be obtained from elsewhere). Changing belts is pretty straightforward and the mechanism for setting the correct bevel angles takes out all the uncertainty over accuracy. It's worth taking the time to research prices as the difference between low and high can be as much as £60. Ideal machine for those who find it difficult to grind the correct angle for a variety of tools

I have always been able to free hand grind my tools and maintain the correct angle, but advancing years, weakening eyesight and hands that are not as steady as they were have left me wanting. This machine has made it possible to once again be able to grind and maintain the correct angle on most of my tools . It is very well thought out and laid out making it very easy to set up and operate, the ideal machine for people who find grinding their tools both difficult and probably a chore. It is a pleasure to use and along with the various accessories that are available for the machine I would say it is one of the best buys on the market. Good but costly

This tool has transformed my chisels, my complaint would be that the basic is very basic.
I bought the basic and then had to buy the upgrade unfortunately I still haven't all the necessary bits for sharpening turning tools.
None of the reviews that I have read mention the amount of dust produced when re-shaping so please be aware.
