Light hearted but sincere view of birdlife and how artists depict it.

The late John Busby is such a respected artist that anything he writes concerning this genre is well worth a look at, and as usual makes compelling reading. Illustrated with his own field sketches and studio works he offers experienced officionardos and newcomers alike much to consider in this eclectic branch of the creative arts and the combination of the more scientific study of ornithology. The illustrations are first rate and the text is imbued with John's many years of studying and depicting birds as living, breathing creatures in their own environments. Great for flicking through and dipping into time and time again, a book to enjoy and savour !!Read full review
