Easy high Temperature Seal for a Wood Burner
Easy to use and one can work it well to get a good finish - just like ordinary silicon. Tube size is a little smaller (Capacity) than normal but does work the same in the standard gun. Not easy to find a silicon like this for a wood burning stove that requires temperatures way higher than the usual 'high' temperature sealant which only ever go up to 300 degrees.
We used a standard fire cement (dries brittal/holds shape) to seal the fire side of the seal so as to avoid direct fire gases for the silicon. Read the label!

Genuine hestproof silicone sealant !!
Normal impello tube, easy to use & does seem to be far more heatproof than "normal" silicone rubber... Did produce some white smoke when first heated, but not too pungent & dissipated fairly quickly. Subsequent fireings have produced hardly any smoke / smell & sealing / adhesion qualities appear decent !! Squidged a mixture of fibreglass rope + sealant into gap between register plate & flue - a gap which frequently failed when using fire cement - only time will tell, early days yet but seems a much better solution :-)Read full review...
