This thing is great to play with. Awesome effects on the kaoss pad, and limited control for software effects, the only downside. Besides that, has all basic functions, very portable, has mic input which is great, and is even a standalone mixer. Really cool part about standalone is use of the HPF/LPF. The Kaoss mixer can be used for send/return on larger mixers, and is really worth it for the kickass effects it comes with. Some of my favorites were the synths, gaters, turntable slow down, of course the filters. Definitely recommend this for someone who already has a couple of years of experience djing, because there are a lot of secondary functions to remember. REALLY NICE, COMPACT MIXER/CONTROLLER

After having DJ'd for over 40 years using traditional mixers, turntables and CD players, this is my first dive into using a computer and controller for digital music. Took me a little while to master the Serato DJ software but I was able to figure it out; this unit is specifically designed to work with Serato so the interface is near-perfect. KORG has a long history in professional MIDI and electronic processing and this product lives up to their reputation. In doing my research, this controller seems to be the best in the ($100) price range. Some DJ's may find the touch wheels/pads for scratching not to their liking but that is not a big part of my show and work fine for my purposes.
