Incredible! Buy one, you won't be disappointed

After reading many reviews I decided to take the plunge and order this upgrade. I'm still in shock to be honest. The bulb fits perfectly, the brightness is incredible compared to the old bulb and not only does the focus still work perfectly, it's actualy sharper and no hole in the middle of the beam at fine point at all. At its most broad focus it still has the large dull area in the middle but that has always been the case with maglights and no bulb will cure it, it's a part of the design, not a fault of the bulb.
If you are wondering wether to buy one I can honestly say deliberate no longer just buy one and be amazed at the pure white brightness your old maglight will produce even on old batteries!
Ps don't look at the bulb or you will be seeing dots for ages ( maybe don't point it into the sky either or pilots might be blinded too ;) )

Not favorably impressed

I purchased 2 of these to retrofit both a 3 cell and 4 cell Maglite. While they are indeed brighter than the incandescent bulb they replaced, they are not as bright as a factory 2 cell LED Maglite. These are all D cell flashlights. The color rendering is more toward the yellow spectrum than the Maglite and the projected beam is not uniform in shape and also has a considerable "hole" in the center of the beam. I can focus to a tight spot without the center hole with an incandescent bulb in the same flashlights. All in all, my expectations were perhaps a bit high, but these are NOT equivalent to the Maglite elements, in my opinion. I wish I had applied the purchase price to new Maglite flashlights, and not to retrofit LEDs. Time will tell if they're durable, but I would not purchase again.Read full review...

A new lease of life for Maglites

Our Maglite is quite old but still working - a rather faint light from 3 exhausted 'C' batteries. The Cree bulb transforms it into a superb torch again, even using the existing batteries. Not cheap, but worth the money if your old Maglite is in working condition.Read full review...

excellent very bright & eco friendly

Very bright & seems much better on batteries. I have used this maglight for over 20 years And this will upgrade it for the foreseeable in such case it is also very environmentally friendly and very cost effective as I would have thrown the maglight away and bought the latest one. A no brainer really.Read full review...

Maglite upgrade into 21st Century.

I have had my big Maglites for over 30 years. They lose their edge over time, but how many torches does anyone still have after this many years? Nowadays they are easily out performed generally by much cheaper often well made small Cree torches.

Longevity wise these bulbs should out last anything I require of them but I won’t know that for a few more decades!!

However in work / emergency situations a large Maglite is difficult to misplace, they are not pocket torches, very difficult to damage and if you upgrade with one of these bulbs the torch comes into the 21st Century.

A worthy upgrade if a torch is required in your life and you have one sitting on the shelf.

The future us bright

I replaced an old Niteize led bulb which was very blue in colour. This buld is very bright and very white in colour. It's made a vast difference to the torch and presumably uses less battery power. Hopefully it will last as long and time will tell for this but up to now I'm suitably impressed.Read full review...

Breath new life into a fifteen year old Maglite!

My maglite had been retired to the back of the cupboard until I replaced the old filament bulb with a Cree led.
A quantum change in brightness, and still able to use the focus ring.
This is a must do upgrade and recommended to all Maglite owners of filament bulb torches. What you waiting for?Read full review...

‘Brilliant’ upgrade for my 20 year old 3D cell Maglite.

Simple replacement bulb for my tired 3D cell maglite. It has had a new lease of life. I left the batteries in that have an ineffective light, changed the bulb, and wow! So much brighter!!

LED Bulb for 3 cell Maglite

The LED bulb arrived super fast. This will be my work torch so the brighter the better. Can’t get any batteries yet because of lock down Corvid 19 restrictions, but can wait to test my own personal Supernova !!!Read full review...

New Life

This bulb brought back new life in my old tired Mag lite. Even though there is a noticeable hole in the middle at "wide" beam, it is out weighed by the pure brightness of the bulb. Tremendous "spot" light results. Well worth the switch to the new LED bulb.Read full review...

Led bulb

I've not had it long enough to know if its durable, but I think it's well made, it's very bright, even with knackered 4 year old batteries,I can light up a tree a hundred yards away, quite incredable
