The Original. One of the Best!

I loved this formulation of Addict, and I love the second one too, the third, nice, but THIS is the heavy-duty, sweeter and darker original from 2002—the one I purchased is batch code dated 2003, HTF! The brighter, but still wonderful, second version of Addict—the first change of the bottle, adding a white gold band, and a CD on the lock-top, the box iridescent white with a navy blue band around the bottom—saw the blackberry and jasmine accords of the original replaced with silk tree-flower and mandarin leaf. Although both are wonderful and uniquely Addict, I find myself drawn to the heady florals and sweetness of this, the original formulation, in the autumn and winter months, while the second, more citrusy version appeals to me for daytime and spring/summer weather. Both still proffer the spicy vanilla, sandalwood and tonka bean mix that make this so special, while the latest version—removable cap, white box with Dior Addict in an iridescent square on the top middle—is overall a more simple mix, it still hints at the unique qualities of the original, but is a mere shadow of it...a faded copy that I wear when I’m in casual mode, and don’t want a heavy-hitter scent trailing after me.

Although I stopped wearing it for over a decade, I returned to it only to discover updated versions to enjoy, and have been collecting the different versions, loving every drop. Addict lives up to its name for sure. Just gorgeous.Read full review...
