Good fast medium sized phone, with handy built in fingerprint scanner.
It is a good medium sized phone, roughly equivalent to the old Samsung S3.
Depending when it was made will either have Android 9 or 10 installed.
The fingerprint recognition pad on the reverse is extremely useful when you get used to it and is far more accurate that those on the screen, which do not work properly if you install a glass protector.
Quite fast and easy to use, if you clear all the Google and Samsung rubbish off it, or disable the apps you
cannot remove.
(Use ADB on a USB connection to your computer and you can disable even the apps and services that cannot be disabled from the settings, because Google/Samsung don't want you to)
The one Samsung app I do use is the Internet browser. It is one of the few that can be configured to show a completely blank page when opened, without all the suggested sites, bookmarks you didn't create etc etc etc that bedevil browsers for phones.
A lot of the phones on sale are in fact Samsung European spec. This means the charger does not fit UK sockets and needs replacing with a UK version.
This is very important, because the fast charger is integral to the usefulness. With it the battery will recharge in quite a short space of time. A normal 1A USB socket or charger will take considerably longer, especially if the phone is left switched on.
Make sure the phone you buy has a UK fast charger.
Some other phones were intended for other markets, flashed with UK ROMs and supplied with UK chargers. This is seldom apparent in the listing text, but if done properly the phone will function perfectly well and may be considerably cheaper.Read full review...
