Steering Wheel Stand - Well made and well priced

I read the well written product summary before buying and was impressed from the get go. When I received it, everything was as described - a sturdy, well finished stand that was easy and simple to assemble and does the job perfectly. Having used it with my Logitech G920 for several sessions now, I can say it works well, is easy to take apart and hide away behind the sofa and then set up again. Everything is easy to adjust and you can fit the wheel and manual shifter nicely to your preferred angle or set up. This is so well (and fairly) priced compared to the other solutions on the market - I viewed several others that were similar in design -in fact with less metal - for around 3 times the price!! It is a very fair price when you look at the other offerings on the market. This is a great buy for the person who wants a quality solution that can be easily set up and stowed away without fuss - and get value for money - and not get ripped off - then look no further. 5 stars.Read full review...

Cheap, but not robust enough

Main crux of this unit is that it is not heavy or wide enough for a G27/29. It can handle steering forces, however the pedal and the general "push pull" that happens it cannot cope with.
The Floor stands does not have enough grip,
The Neck does not have enough stability, it requires another strut to stop the "back and forth" motion. Movement is around 1-2" where the wheel is- this is when it is fully tightened.
The side adjusting knob (adjusting neck height) will get knocked by your knee when you Heel-toe,

I have modified it in a few ways to remedy these issues -
1) Raised the end of the footbed (15cm, using furniture legs and added weight within the legs), it provides more ergonomic and seating position and shifts the vertical shaft more "out the way" of your knee so you less likely to bash it while heel-toe. It also requires less neck height so it is less likely to wobble back and forth.
2) Added another brace linking wheel plate to the base (location is left of the clutch and around where the gear shifter is), I have used 2x 1" hinges and a plank of wood (had these to hand), this improved stability when push/pulling the gears/wheel. Unfortunately this does not fold anymore while this strut is in place.
3) A grip mat on hardwood floor and adding more weight on the base to provide a better grip to the floor, this is still "work in progress" as it still slides, likely i will cut legs to correct angle (around 20degrees) and put some rubber grips on the legs.

Notes:
# I find it annoying how it folds away as you will need to tuck the wheel under base (not just fold over). This is annoying when you try to route wiring as it needs to be stretched.
# I also find the a singular support point not adequate as a second re-enforcing point between base of neck and base would likely have better stability.

All in all, the quality of materials are good, but the design - I dont think this is a good base to build/mod on. I previously built one with a £15-20 workbench and had less hassles to get it to work properly (though of course it was heavier and cannot adjust height or tilt angles very easily.)

Very pleased

I took the plunge on getting a wheel for my console to try and achieve good results on dirt rally which was impossible with a controller. It's my 1st wheel and I needed a stand but couldn't believe the prices of some, as I wasn't sure if I'd get on using a wheel I just couldn't justify spending the money some stands cost.
However I then stumbled across this one and was slightly hesitant as it was a good price so wasn't expecting great quality, but I've been proven very wrong after receiving it this morning. It's excellent quality, very sturdy as I'm fairly aggressive with the wheel on rally games and easy to assemble. I've just set it all up and have beat my controller time by 13 seconds thanks to this fantastic stand!
If anyone is looking at these and not sure because of the low price, seriously do not be put off, it's an excellent investment and great to see someone catering for gamers that aren't in a position to spend hundreds on a stand etc. Huge thumbs up from me....

Fantastic value for money.

I'm writing this to hopefully help anyone on the fence about getting this. I've had the Logitech G29 for close to two years now and had it set up on an Ikea laptop table. The noise and poor pedal position meant I wanted a new stand but I didn't want to shell out £100+ I kept coming back to this stand and it did seem too good to be true at the price it was.

I finally took the plunge, the stand arrived with 2 days and it was easy to assemble. I'm happy to report it's fantastic. Fits the G29 wheel and pedals perfectly. Theres no slip with the pedals and no wobble with the wheel. It's easily adjustable to the perfect racing position. I can't believe I put up with the Ikea table so long! The only downside I can see is that the stand does slip backwards on heavy braking (on carpet) I've sorted this by pushing it up against my TV cabinet but an anti slip mat would also do the job.

In brief, great product and fantastic value for money.

Excellent product. Excellent quality. Excellent price.

This great piece of kit is apparently suitable for various makes/models of steering wheels/pedals but I can only review it for hubbys Thrustmaster Ferrari 458, for which it is superb. After managing to assemble it between us, the "steering column" is fully adjustable to suit your height and can be angled to your comfort. The pedals just sit on the base, though could really do with some kind of anchor or bolting down to keep them in place. That said, a piece of non-slip matting works perfectly!!! The structure is extremely sturdy and cost half the price of "recommended" stands. I have a very happy hubby, so can highly recommend this product.Read full review...

Perfect solution, why pay more!

OK, so I can't compare this to any other steering wheel/pedal solution, but I bought this after sitting on a full on simulator setup (GT Omega). Knowing I couldn't fork out for the proper setup, I looked around and came across this.
I have to say, I can hardly fault it. It's very adjustable, it's very easy to find the near perfect position (height/angle wise) for the wheel, and the pedal plate is a good size and seemingly 'about right' in terms of its position. OK, so pedal adjustment would be nice, as would some way of anchoring the pedals down, but I found a decent compromise by 'padding out' the back of my pedals with some plastic bricks.
As you can probably gather, it's not 100% rigid, as it has one central pillar, but it really is very sturdy, and I found I was not really flexing the wheel sideways too much anyway. It doesn't bother me one bit, neither does the central column, my knees are happy either side of it. Overall, it's a very good value purchase that will surely to the trick. I can't imagine why you'd pay more unless you were going for a full on 'frame' solution with integrated seat. I use a seat that's very low and tends to rock an awful lot, so I pushed the seat back against a wall to stop this, and still managed to get the wheel low enough to be comfortable. Highly recommended.

Great build and sturdy.

Good price, with quick delivery. Assembled it quickly and easily because I'm amazing. I haven't used it yet, because I never get to play games. Frankly; I've no idea why I even bought it. I've played a total of 20 minutes of games this year. I also bought a PSVR. Great bit of kit. Used it about 4 times and am now the official supervisor for other players. Bought a few additional dualshock pads recently. I have no four player games, and even if I did, I have no friends with whom to play them. I bought a tent. £400. I hate camping. Just cannot abide it. £500 on a bike locker. It blocks out the light to my lounge, and my bike is worth about £8. Honestly, the only useful thing I've bought since 2009 is a clock from Ikea. £10. Looks good, smooth motion, keeps time well. 9/10.Read full review...

Great value for money.

I have been looking at different stands for a while now but was always put off by the prices being charged. I saw this and thought it was a lot more reasonable so I ordered one.
It arrived before the due date and was well packed. The quality is very good for the price and is easy to assemble (10 mins). It is sturdy and very adjustable and doesn't take up too much space. Ideal for me.
It's nice to find a manufacturer who isn't too greedy, the price is very fair and I would recommend this to anyone.
