This is the English language translation of The Arabian Nights by the famous British explorer Sir Richard Francis Burton, and it comes in a very beautiful hardbound edition. Wonderfully written this work published by Burton in the 1880s is a treasure to display and to read. This particular edition is packed with gorgeous illustrations that bring to life these fabulous tales. Burton's fantastic tomb in a London area churchyard is a full-size replica of an Arabian tent and is well worth taking the time to hunt down. There have been a number of films made about his life and he was an amazing 19th Century character.
This is a must have edition of a fascinating and charming book that everyone should own.
