Great bit of kit
The cutters shave off metal from either side of the blade so if the knife has been sharpened badly in the past it may take some time to get back the correct sharpening angle. Decent, nice and easy to use sharpener.
I have been using this knife sharpener for quite a while and still can't get the finish I was expecting after reading reviews and watching some videos.
A bit disappointed to be honest, but to be truthful, it does the job. It sharpens my knifes well enough but you have to persevere until you get a decent result. It definitely took longer than it said on videos from the manufacturer.
Overall, good for the price I paid but far from the finish I was hoping to get after sharpening.
Pros: Good size, easy to carry around, and very safe once placed on a smooth surface. Easy to use.
Cons: Limited sharpening finish.

Super sharpener
I purchased this with no much hope of it being as good as it looks but I was wrong. I opened the box when it came back and was surprised by how small it was, so using the suction cup I fitted it to the work surface and began to sharpen my knives. I was shocked how easy it was just apply a little pressure and draw the knife backwards. All my knives are now super sharp and with the sharpener being small and neat I leave it secured to the worktop in front of my knife block and give them a quick sharpen now and again and they are good to go.

Amazing device
I'm a natural skeptic when it comes to novel kitchen gadgets that are claimed to be the answer to all our problems, but this one really does work and is fool proof. It's sticks solidly to the worktop by suction and is very easy to use. If your knives have been allowed to get into poor shape as most of mine had, it takes a bit of time and patience to put an edge back, but it's worth the effort. It is now a pleasure to use knives that I had thought were useless and they do slice through tomatoes almost as easily as on the vid. Works very well
This sharpens my knives very well. Some have complained that it removes too much metal and there being shavings around the sharpener, this only happens when too much pressure is applied. As per the instructions only very light pressure is needed. I hardly pressed down, just running the knife through the sharpener. After 2 passes it is sharp and practically no metal is removed. The little sharpener that packs a big punch
It's a dinky bit of kit, but very well made and you'll be surprised at just how sharp your knives will get. If your worktops are slightly textured, like mine, the suction cup will struggle to create a proper vacuum - this is NOT a failing of the product, just a fact of life. Just hold on to it a little whilst using.
Bear in mind that sharpeners remove very small shards of metal from the blade edge, you will find that these end up all over the worktop so have the vacuum handy and clear a foot radius of space around it. You could try putting a cloth down but the metal may get caught in it. I'm going to start using it in the garage and doing all of my knives in one session. Again, this is just how sharpeners work.
To finish the sharpening process I always pull each blade through a block of wood - this removes the last small burr of metal and leaves the blade smooth, mimicking the 'stropping' process that all of us woodworkers do when sharpening edge tools.
