Why Pay Silly Prices.

Having used many speaker cables over the years, both single and bi-wired, some quite expensive, I was not convinced the speaker cable itself made a huge sonic difference. Some looked great with their fancy covering. I bought the thickest Van damme pure copper cable. Just a clear plastic insulation, which actually I quite like. I'm running a Musical Fidelity A5 amp to Spendor S5e speakers. Sounded great, and at a quarter of the cost of of some of my cables. Not convinced about 'burn in' time of speaker cables either, though after a couple of months the Van damme cable seemed to really gel with my system. Perhaps it's my ears ! I would certainly recommend this speaker cable.Read full review...

Solid speaker cable

Seems to be a good quality reasonably priced cable. I was using thinner Van Damme blue speaker cables before upgrading to these, and there is a noticeable improvement in the sound coming out of my speakers. It is cleaner and less harsh.Read full review...

Thoughtfully made

I have recently replaced my ageing and tatty Linn K20 cable with this and find it an equally good, non interfering, open cable. There is no hint of it modifying the sound in the way that some cables do.

The strands are woven rather than twisted which is a mixed blessing. It holds the strands together but if you do let the strands come apart, it is not simple to re-twist them. Whether woven strands affect the sound I have no idea. I can't tell any difference from the, otherwise similar, Linn cable. It is a very flexible cable for its size.

I found that the best way to wire my ample sized Nakamichi locking plugs (recommended) was NOT to strip the cable at all but to mark the positions for the screws on the jacket and cut a hole for the screws to pass through the jacket. That way, the cable is kept in a nice tight cluster.

There are directional indicators on the jacket - if you believe in that sort of thing.

Trimming the soft plastic jacket and separator is simple and the final appearance of the cable is pleasing.

[Used with mainstream Bryston 4B SST & PMC OB1i and also with Hypex based Nord 500 NC amps]
