Superb rich sound
I did quite a bit of research before deciding to buy the Sonos 5, which came out tops on pretty much every review I read.
Also i have a friend who owns one and loves it!
The sound quality is for the size of the unit absolutely superb.
It sits in a large lounge and has no problem with filling it with rich, high quality sound that even on full volume (which is far too high for the room) has no signs of distortion.
Also it's very simple in design and extremely user friendly in terms of setting it up.
I can now operate/control it from my iPhone and my iPod using the dedicated App.

i got play 5's rather than 3's because of the line in. i have a computer with really good playout software plugged into a mixer and then into the play 5. I wanted to put a tv into one in the lounge - this didn't work because of latency because i wanted both the speaker on the tv on AND the play 5's so there was noticeable echo when it was on.
two of my 5's are hard wired to the router, one straight in and one using a powerline. i did this because the house is big and i wanted good mesh network coverage and we have so many other wifi gadgets around inc sky q that i thought it would be best for it to have it's own mesh.
streaming quality is great. I use amazon music unlimited
only bugbear really is the cost - cost me just over £1700 for the four and imagine the system i could have bought for that - nothing is truly wireless because they have power cables don't they. but it does mean no wires room to room. Power cables aren't long enough if i wanted them on the walls.
Attached to my computer is a disco mixer with decks, mini disc etc attached so it means i can play vinyl everywhere! result.
One bugbear is the trueplay only works on ios devices - i had to wait for my sister coming round to use her phone. it's ridiculous that they dont just include a small mic in the box so they can calibrate with any phone. i mean at these prices a £1 mic on a lead would solve all those problems.
PC app is great, no so happy with the android app - not the easiest way to choose music but maybe i havent used it enough yet.

Sonos Haven!
The Sonos Play 5 is amazing! Cannot fault it and when linked to Spotify (if you have it) is just spot on. I play music in the conservatory more often now and everyone that has been to mine has commented on how beautiful the sound is from the Sonos device. A lot of people wondered if it was a Bose but then on further inspection they discovered the Sono logo in both angles which is pretty awesome. I now a Sonos fan and have recently invested in the Sonos Playbar (Samsung soundbar packed in) now I'm saving up for 2 play ones, and then Christmas time the Sonos Subwoofer in time for all the Christmas junk on TV!Read full review...

The awsome Sonos Play 5 Gen 2
I have a pair of these and a sonos sub. Play 5's sound great on their own but two are astounding! Add the sub which was previous paired with 2 play 1's and it's a whole new level.
I've been into good sound all my life but this is the best setup I've heard in my home ever.......to be fair it's the most expensive as well but being able to buy individual speakers that sound great then build into something awesome makes it more accessible and acceptable somehow.Read full review...

Overall delighted minor gripe with the power cord plug
Very pleased apart from a minor gripe.
The power cord where it plugs into the speaker is badly worn and the rubber sleeving is almost broken through to the wires.
