Prefect with loft ladder and easy to fit
Delivered within two days, this is a quality ABS plastic moulding with strong hinges, good insulation and draught proof seal. The hinges require care to insert the sprung pins but will provide simple, lasting service. Easy to fit in a standard 2 foot centre ceiling joists. An existing loft hatch will need battens and any architrave removed and this frame and door is fitted with ten screws. Make sure the loft opening is square using shims where necessary. Could buy better
Bought this in a hurry and with hindsight should have known better. It's pretty good at the price, so it's quite good value. BUT it suffers from having a very lightweight frame; this should ideally be more rugged or robust. The single locking point is also a weakness as it doesn't hold the trap shut at the edges. Neat looking loft hatch easy to fit providing your hole is the correct size. Good enough for the money, the lid is a bit wobbly when opened but fits snug when closed. Good for the money
My loft hatch arrived on time . Very easy to fit and does it's job . Only gripe was the actual frame was sort of warped along it's length and I couldn't straighten it out when when I fitted it . It's not particularly noticeable once you've caulked around the outside but if you're fussy you might want to check it with a straight edge first . This looks nice once fitted, can't complain at the price. The metal pins which hold the door have to be inserted into the frame which is quite difficult without decent long nosed pliers but its doable. Initially this looked a bit flimsy, but once fitted it became as firm as need be and looks like a good solid door. Fitting was easy.
