high tension lead ends for classic cars/bikes

As you know when replacing h/t leads on classic vehicles you need an end piece to help maximise current flow between coil and lead to the spark plugs.
The idea of these is that they slip over the end of the lead where you have striped back the insulation and then are crimped in place so as the prongs penetrate the outer lead casing and "spike" the internal wire thus creating the bridge for the current.
In practice the brass pressings are far to weak, and any attempt to push the prong into the lead just causes it to bend or fold back, the only way get them in is to pre-cut the lead which defeats the point i would say!.
