I bought this radio and CD player to link into my tv. The great speakers deliver excellent sound, much better than the TV's rather tinny sounding speakers. poor reception
Looks great but both FM and DAB receprion really poor. Couldn't even pick up Radio 4 on FM when all my other radios do it perfectly and DAB only found 4 stations when my little portable finds dozens. And there is only the buit in aerial no socket to use an external aerial.
Only buy it if you live in a location with perfect recption.
On the plus side a quick refund received.

Good looking with good features
Dissapointed with the DAB and FM radio, poor reception in my living room, have tried in various places but unable to get a good reception, works fine upstairs though. CD, USB and Bluetooth work well, very good sound.
Since writing the above review, I have put the radio into my tv unit and pointed the aerial towards the TV aerial and it now works fine. Could it be possible for the manufacturers to put a socket for a radio aerial to be put in the back of the unit, this would help in areas with poor reception.Read full review...

I love this radio! I wanted a Bluetooth speaker for the kitchen that was mains powered but when I saw this DAB digital radio with Bluetooth and CD player I couldn't resist. It was more than I wanted to spend but I am so pleased I did. The sound quality is great and it was SO easy to set up and to use. Searched and read plenty of reviews some of which was more expensive than the oakington for a quality piece of kit to replace my old Cambridge audio radio for the kitchen.
I took a punt on the oakington given the price and reviews thinking the sound quality won’t be as good as many have said. True to form... it’s fantastic quality and if you’re a music purist you will enjoy the crisp clear and bass-levelling sound. Just received my Oakington Majority sound system and it is superb. The sound is brilliant and the options to fine tune the treble and bass a real bonus. It was a simple process to set up the unit which meant I was playing superb DAB quality sounds whilst reading the detailed manual. This will be a well sed unit for sure. Good design. Simple but straight forward function controls. All the top level controls are there for easy use. Easy to get-to second level, for advanced functions. Great fascia if you like the simple look. Does not look like the cockpit of the space shuttle.
For the price range, good sound. The usual 5 preset dynamic sound options: normal, rock, pop, jazz and classic. Bass and treble available for fine adjustment. Better sound out there, but you are well up into the next price range.
Everything you need for good control of a DAB radio.
USB connection available for iPod and Walkmans. No wasted dedicated port for iPod's for those who do not have one. With the Bluetooth and the Audio In ports, all the interfaces are there.
Cons
No connections for external speakers
Fixed aerial. Would have been better to have a standard aerial into a port, so that an external hi-gain aerial could be plugged in if needed.

Piano black Oakington. Great sound quality and stylish looks.
I loved my 1980's CD player and radio, but after years of service, the CD's started skipping. I replaced it with what I thought was an OK brand, but the CD player was almost as bad as my old one. I Just thought I would browse alternatives and was greeted by Majority Oakington. I loved the sound of the features and ordered immediately. The product was with me within 2 days. OMG, I'd forgotten what music should sound like. The sound quality is amazing, my CD's sound so different; I'm rediscovering them all. Haven't investigated the DAB radio yet, but looking forwards to it and hooking up my phone to listen to the music on there. The black 'piano' effect is beautiful- really high gloss. The product looks great. I love the remote control so I can control the volume when I'm cooking/answering the phone. I also love being able to pause CD's and coming back to that track.
