The Silverline TOILET SNAKE BLOCKAGE CLEARER worked well
A reasonable price for this product.
It comes with printed instructions but there's also a v helpful YouTube video.
Patience required because it doesn't work immediately - however 36-48 hours later we have unblocked toilet that's working as it should.

Easy to follow instruction.
Impressive kit, good quality, un fortunately not for my toilet. Unable to place as the angle just would not allow it. So pulled the snake out by hand and placed it about 40cm deep into the toilet. Sadly could not locate the blockage. That’s clearly not the Augers fault. Be wary of scratching the bottom of toilet! Did it work first time? No. But it did work second time. First-time attempt I just followed the concise instructions and it got the toilet flushing easier but still not correctly. On the second attempt I inserted the snake and employed an up-down in-out motion as I extended to the full extension, then swirled it around using the handle, then I repeated the procedure as I removed the snake. Flushed and it was fully cleared. I did put plenty of bleach and disinfectant in the pan prior to insertion to try clear as many bugs from the snake as possible, but I did have a relatively clean blockage. Because of the flexibility of the item it can slide down the toilet bowl so easily and of course it depends on the blockage. You have to take your time and keep working the snake bin and out and turning the handle at the same time till you clear the blockage, but it is still a lot cheaper than getting a Plumber to do the job.
