Great audio interface but with caveats

On the surface, this is a really great audio interface. It is well built with a metal enclosure, and loads of connectivity. However, I had to return mine and here's why:

- The volume control does not affect the RCA jacks on the back - you have to use the Behringer app for this. The volume pot only controls the main out jacks.

- Even though there are two pairs of RCA connectors, the A/B switch does not switch between them; again, you have to use the Behringer app to send your audio to either A or B. The switch only controls what goes to the headphones.

- The Behringer ASIO driver is not very good. I write music for a hobby and a low-latency ASIO driver is really important when recording live instruments. My old Tascam interface could go down as low as 64 samples, even playing back a busy mix. I struggled to get this much below 1024 samples, often much higher before the pops and crackles went away. This introduced latency of around 30-40ms which is much too high for music production.

In terms of the quality of the mic amps for recording and the device as a whole for playback, it is really well designed and built, no doubt about it. If I just wanted to play back music from my PC to an external system, this would be great. But for my needs, it didn't really fit the bill unfortunately. Just be warned that it is not as simple as plugging in some RCA cables, you'll need 6.5mm to phono jacks to use the line outs if you want to use the volume pot on the front.

Unfortunate experience but five star service

Have researched and found some excellent reviews I took the plunge and bought one . Using Audacity as my programme I tried every which way to get it to work I even viewed several YouTube tutorials but in the end had to accept the unit must be faulty. The returns was effortless and the service from the supplier was well worth 5 starsRead full review...

Quality Sound

Perfect for the input and output to the PC. I rigged the main outs to my KRK monitors and the second outs to a stereo amp to a set of Wharfedale speakers.
Sound quality is very good.
Excellent value for money.
Even the phones out gives excellent sound.
I rigged the unit as the main ASIO sound card and I use It also for the input and output for my (DAW).
Digital audio work station.
It's so easy to install.
I'm now a Behringer Fan.
Thank you so much for this
Mr P

Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD USB Audio Interface Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD

I bought the M Audio 2x2M of which looked great but trying to use it was a nightmare due to the digitally unsigned drivers they produce which crashes and conflicts with current operating systems. Fed up with not being able to do anything with it, I returned the dreaded interface and bought the Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD USB Audio Interface to replace it.

The first day after receiving the Behringer interface and still in the M Audio mode that I must save my work every 5 mins before my work crashes, I quickly realised the Behringer U-Phoria Interface ran smoothly, gave absolutely no problems, easy to configure, easy to use, well built and sounded great!!! Very happy with my purchase and the quality of sound produced, normally I do not write reviews but I decided to write my very first review.
I highly recommend the audio interface.

Amazing small but big sound and the price well see for yourself.

I bought one B stock and it was not working right has issues with high noise after boosting the channel volume and the main volume there was a hiss of pink noise from both channels.

I sent back to the supplier and got a brand new one sent and it is very cool the Midas pre-amps are amazing sounding the audio interface for the price is really good I would have liked this as a first soundcard, But it also is good for someone on the move producer sound editor or recording instruments mobile. Very easy to put into a laptop bag. It is very user-friendly for the complete beginner to the advanced producer or sound engineer. I would recommend for the home studio if you need a backup and again as a mobile unit then this is the got to. Finally, the price is little over £75 and that is a bargain for Midas pre-amps as if you research the brand Midas have very expensive mixing desks well over the ££££. And have been around since the early 80s so they know what sounds good and have many awards and many top people in the record industry would recommend Midas. Also, thank you to the retailer on eBay they were very good fast and very pleasant to talk to understood my issues and even gave me a free return to get my audio interface swapped, the turn around was very fast and I would use this store again. THANK YOU INTER AUDIO COVENTRY. Read full review...

Best DAC on the market for PCs

By far the best interface I have used. Liked it so much, I bought another one for the other main PC. Built like a tank and with great feeling controls, I would recommend this to anyone. The 192kHz sampling rate is double that of most interfaces.Read full review...

Atypical of a Behringer product

You can't usually go wrong with Behringer product. Absolute value for money, quality build and it works right out of the box. I used this as a simple interface for a DAW. It's latency free with guitar. Just perfect. I am using it with Reaper, so both channels on the front can be recorded at once. This is handy for me and my partner to jam and record the jams. Nice. Does what it says on the tin.

Compact and solidly built unit, uncluttered by unnecessary software features.
German design manufactured in China (as expected) to a high standard of finish.
Note that the analogue audio input sensitivity is affected by the choice of input plug. The XLR (3 pin) connector has a mic gain characteristic whilst the concentric jack plug input is more suited to high level signals. The input 'pad' function provides a wide tolerance of differing input gains.
Very satisfied with this purchase. Recommended.

Nice Piece of Kit.

Works very well but when used with my Apple Mac 27" I had to use a USB 2.0 hub because for reasons only known to Apple the computer is only USB 3.0 and not backward compatible.
