Superb small camera.
Absolutely amazing small camera - large 16mb image sensor results in excellent photos even in low light and video quality combined with 1080 is excellent.
Adjustable viewing screen allows shooting at various angles. Usual superb Sony build quality.
Highly recommended.Read full review...

Good camera
Everything as stated, apart from, when you enlarge an image, you can't press to the left. I hope this is an innocent, unknown mistake. It's not a major issue, just slightly disappointing on an otherwise great camera.Read full review...

Sony NEN
I’ve owned these before and they are a great camera with DSLR functionality but a compact design and really great quality images can’t go wrong with any of the NEX or the newer A series worth buying in my view.Read full review...

Excellent business.
Everything is perfect. Thank you so much. I can take brilliant pictures. My famous option is Continuous Adv.
Sony Nex 3
This is a fantastic camera, ideal for easy use, and great for someone who wants a little more than a compact camera, but not the absolute complications of an SLR.
The menus are intuitive, the tooltips very useful as you go through so it's easy to choose the type of photo you want to take.
The quality of the screen is fantastic, very clear and easy to see in bright lights - the added advantage that it flips in both directions (up and down) so that you can easily see the screen when taking a shot with your hands held high (ie shots over people's heads) or if you have it on a tripod, you don't have to bend down to see the screen.
The battery life is very reasonable given that it doesnt have a viewfinder, therefore you cannot turn off the screen. I did purchase a second battery as our first trip was to a F1 grand prix, and we were camping for 5 days so I had no access to electricity to charge up batteries, and this worked really well. On 2 batteries we took over 1000 photos and about 10 - 15 minutes of video (in 1 - 2 minute chunks).
The photos are nice and clear when you download them to your computer, I am really pleased with the quality.
The panorama shot is really fun and gives some lovely results, all you do is aim at your left start point, hold the button, move the camera to the right keeping the button pressed and with the release of the button your image is processed and stored as a single image right away.
For fast speed photography I purchased a class 10 SDHC card, I didn't even know cards had speeds until I started looking at this camera!!! There is a measurable difference between how many images can be buffered on a class 2 and a class 10 card. The class 10 card allows for around 30 images to be taken continuously (with the button held down) before it struggles, whereas the class 2 card struggles after about 10 - 12. So, a better card is well worth the money if you're needing fast photography.
The camera is a nice size to hold, very quick to 'boot up' when you switch it on (if you have the lens cover removed) and I love it.
As I was not after video, then the Nex 3 was the better value over the Nex 5, with the 18 - 55mm lens.
I have already recommended it to a friend, who has since bought it and her comments are the same.
I do not have any bad points for it - however, if people are used to the full functionality and are very familiar using PASM modes on an SLR, I believe the menus can be a little frustrating for them.Read full review...
An Excellent Camera!
This is a brilliant camera, forget what you have read about the user interface, its easy to use, looks great has amazing DSLR image quality. If you fit the 16mm pancake lens, this camera is no bigger than a compact like a Canon G11, yet the low light performance is just miles ahead of any small sensor compact, its just great
Indoor shots in low light without flash are remarkably good, the White balance is also spot on, the metering works very well indoors and for the most part, intelligent Auto will get it right for you by choosing the most suitable ISO and shutter speed, image noise is very low with this camera even at high sensitivities
You get auto HDR (high dynamic range) which shoots three exposures and combines them to amazing effect giving great dynamic range, only previously possible with post processing software, you also get to keep the middle single exposure too so its a win win
The design is sleek and elegant, build quality is lovely and shoots terrific video, I mean really really good video, there is only a small removable flash, but really flash is just not needed in many situations because the sensitivity of the big sensor is so good, even low light shots allow a fairly high shutter speed....the camera automatically sorts all that out for you
Battery life is not as good as a DSLR, but its OK, I haven't counted, but on an important shoot, I would take a spare battery!!
Tilt LCD, a really good sweep panorama feature that really works at low cost make this a 'must have' super cool camera for everyone, its a remarkably good camera, the outdoor metering needs to be mastered, but after that the image quality is top notch....totally recommended by me, love itRead full review...

Would recommend it to anyone
Absolutely superb peace of kit. My brother who is an architect has had one since they first came out and I have finally managed to get one at a bargain price. The camera itself after the firmware update has some extra added features that just suits my day to day needs and blows alot of the standard larger SLRs away. Haven't put the camera down since buying it. Of course it lacks certain specifications in comparison to higher specs but then again you have to pay well to get them. Build quality, picture quality and the compact nature of this camera means it's definitely a leading contender in its class. well done SONY.Read full review...
