Great Book

This is a most excellent book-so informative-good layout and so easy to use. Wish I had know about sooner. It is helping me enormously to now eat more sensible and, more importantly, start reading labels on all I buy. Weight slowly going down but, best of all, my diabetes readings gone from 47 to 42-that after only 3 weeks.

A comprehensive book, which is of great help for Diabetics and Slimmers.
Perhaps the various portion sizes of food, shown as pictures of the food on a plate, would become more practical if the plate was pictured alongside a credit/debit card, for comparative size?
For type 1 Diabetics, who are carbohydrate portion counting, it is an essential tool, but it can sometimes be easy to mis-calculate your insulin units required. The weight of portions shown, is the most accurate way to determine CP's..

I looked long and hard for a book like this, which is easy and simple to use. It had good reviews and though a little expensive is well worth the money. It not only tells you how many Calories there are in different foods but how much of different Nutrients there are too. A real eye opener.

This book was recommended to me by my local pharmacist when reviewing my medication. It highlights portion size and the value of each. In the short time I have had the book it has made me think ahead about my meals. I can still eat all my favourite foods but now I plan ahead so that I can stay within the recommended limits and I am finding that I am now losing weight. I would say that you should maybe also check the figures on the packets or tins as they sometimes differ. You will also learn that 100 grammes of chips is very small but 235 grammes looks so much better and you can just adjust what you put with them.

This book covers portion size as well as individual ingredients, shop bought sandwiches and meals out. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Life saver; hard facts delivered in a straightforward way

It is a life-saver, nothing less. i am diabetic, and i need to know quickly how many carbs are in food. This book tells you straight - no cr*p about 'per serving' just carbs per gram. It does the same thing for CALORIES and also FIBRE, and PROTEIN - and for alcohol it give the units. No more peering at labels on food, bliss.
