I am writing this review due to not having the ability to leave a feedback anymore.

Not all online sellers are certified bike mechanics. I asked before buying if this is the right set of hose for my road bike setup. I was told that "Shimano only uses one type of hose for their brakes". So then I made my purchase.

After installing/replacing the front brake hose on my road bike. I tried finding the same hose locally so I can get to finish my build and start using the bike. I spoke to one of the certified bike mechanics in the bike shop near my house. I was made aware that Shimano recommends only to use BH59. They even have a different barrel made for it so it would function the way they designed it. If you carefully inspect the barrel for a BH90 and BH59. The BH59 has groove on the top lip. After carefully inspecting the hoses too and confirming what I was told at the shop. The difference between the two hoses. The BH90 has a smaller inner diameter inside to compared to a BH59. The barrel for the too for the BH90 has a wider inner diameter compared to the BH59.

BH90 brake hoses was designed to give you an faster brake response. A better brake bite and less modulation which was specifically made for mountain bikes.

BH59 is the opposite of BH90. Thus giving you modulation on your brakes which is needed for road bikes.

Yes it works fine. I don't see any leaks on my replacement/ installation. The question is up to what extent and how long would it work. If I was made aware of the information before purchase. I would have bought the other one which Shimano recommends. It really helps knowing a good LBS. So for all DIYer's. Be extra cautious and make time in researching before making a purchase.

For me, lesson learned. Hope this doesn't cost me my life coz if this brakes fail on my while I am hauling down a long steep hill. This can be a big disaster.Read full review...
