Inserting a needle in my sewing machine without dropping it several times was always a problem. Then getting it seated properly, and holding it there while tightening the thumb screw was a superhuman feat! I just didn't have enough hands! After that, there was the needle to thread, and the eye of that little tiger was getting smaller and more illusive as the years in my life have taken a toll on my eyesight. This little tool makes up for any shortcomings my hands and eyes have developed. I'm now able to sew without as much frustration and aggravation thanks to this simple, but effective tool. Not for me

Sorry to say the needle threader didn't work for me but the needle inserter did. My closeup eyesight is so bad even with reading glasses I couldn't manage the needle threader. I tried a magnifier but it was too awkward. I ended up removing the needle, threading it and re-inserting. I read that hint from another review. There is a you-tube instruction video for the threader but between my eyesight and fat fingers, I just couldn't manage it. Bottom line is I don't think it's the mechanism; seemed to be well made and I would always trust Dritz.Read full review

I was excited to find a machine needle threader! Great price.

I have macular degeneration and am losing my central vision, so have lost the ability to thread a needle. I have used every device possible to help me see to thread my machine.I had dome difficulty with the Dritz, but watched the You Tube video a few times and was able to understand the concept and see the wire which goes into the needle's eye. Threader for Featherweights and other machines without needle threaders

Directions on the package are not clear, so I did an Internet search. Got a great video showing how to use the threader. Then I had no problem at all using this threader. It's a great needle threader. I'm used to having needle threaders on my modern machines. So I got this one to use on my Featherweights and older machines that do not have needle threaders. Dritz sewing machine threader

I have had no other threader to compare it to. I think it tends to fray up the thread as it pushes it thru the needle.
but it is certainly better than having to wait for my granddaughter to thread my needle for me and so it enables me to continue sewing.Read full review
