Simple and perfect!
This is an amazing product retailing for almost twice the price I gave for it here on eBay.
It's a very nice product with a solid quality - feels right - and works in an absolutely perfect fashion (as it should).
The handheld unit is very good. The material (plastic) has an above average feel and finishing to it and gives one the impression that it can (accidentally) fall on hard floor and keep on going - haven't tried it though!!! It's pretty much like a mobile phone.
The screen gives you a fair image without HD or anything such. I would put in the "good" category. Fair enough.
No touch screen either. An absolutely unmissable feature as the navigation menu is pretty straightforward and the buttons work pretty well.
The sound is clear - and loud enough - and it has some lights (like an old amplifier) to give a visual cue if the camera's microphone captures the slightest move of the baby on the sheets. The sound department is extremely reliable and good.
The handheld has a flap on it that allows one to put it on a desk or on any flat horizontal surface for that matter - just like a digital photo frame. Great stuff. Really well thought.
The battery lasts quite good as well.
As for the camera. The horizontal and vertical motion works pretty well and you can't even hear it moving next to the baby. The sound it boasts is about half the sound of the handheld unit - the volume goes around with each other. It's more than enough as this is supposed to be next to the baby and the environment in that room certainly won't be very noisy.
The birds song, the lullabies or the womb sound (as well as one's voice) sound clear and the will capture the baby's attention for sure.
The only downside I've found so far is the very sensitive light sensor - and you can't set it up differently. If the room gets to a sunset mood light, boom, infrared is on despite being absolutely unnecessary.
Many pros, 1 con.

Fine, but a few design flaws and unit thermometer faulty
Mostly fine except for the temperature readout. Currently says 26°C when it is about 20. That's a pretty huge margin to be off. Luckily I don't need this feature and won't bother returning it.
The design of the camera makes it difficult to angle the view from a position higher than the cot. e.g. placed on dressing table. So we mostly get a view of the baby's forehead and eyes. It's enough to know she's asleep, but getting a good view is going to require some work on our part. Read full review...

A good monitor.
This monitor is great especially for the price. Note that this model does not connect to your phone as it doesn't have wifi. I find the battery life on the monitor isn't great, it runs low quite quickly. Other than that, the picture is clear and a very good sized screen. Perfect second camera if you already have the parent unit plus first camera
Motorola MBP49 actually handles multiple cameras but it is difficult to find the camera only option. This was a great addition for us as we already had MBP49 parent unit and first camera.
You can see camera 1, or camera 2 (you have to press OK to switch between cameras)
plus there is an option to alternate the view every 10seconds and there is an option to see both images at the same time. Excellent.
