Well written and presented.

While I'm still new to Stoicism, I found that How To Think Like A Roman Emperor as well as other books by the author, Donald Robertson, are easy to read and understand. He writes in a story style instead of just listing quotes and principals. Maybe older, more experienced Stoics prefer the later, but I get more out of stories than just listing facts. I bought this print version as I prefer to have a book in my hands that I can page back or forward as needed. This edition is nicely printed on medium weight stock in a good size font. It is a nice size to hold - 8.5 x 5.5 .The message inside is even better.Read full review

Great quick read. This will make the reading of deep philosophical ideas and concepts a great pleasure.
Besides, I really don't know a single real guy who would not want to be an emperor for a day anyway
Although the book will not make you an instant student of Sophocles, it will enlighten you. Perhaps, through studying the ideas of stoic thought, it can improve the quality of our highly stressed COVID-19/ intensely pressured mind sets.

This is a great title and drew me to purchasing the book.

The nonfiction part is very informative. The fiction part is not as compelling.
I would recommend this book as revealing the Stoic philosophy in relevant and modern language. Philosophy is often not readable, but this work is very appropriate for any reader.Read full review
