A strong and brilliant novel.

Everyone should read this.

It strikes a chord with ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ and has similar themes. But this was then, this is now. I don’t want to upset anyone who had relatives who went through the holocaust, of course I don’t, but this is about forgotten people in forgotten camps...they are still there today. When the politicians wanted us to be scared about immigration, these desperate people were all over the news. Now, nothing. They are still there. A deeply moving book. Aimed at the older teen market, but I’m 54 and just wept and laughed and was stunned by the brutal honesty of this book.

Endorsed by Amnesty International, for good reason.

My copy (orange cover) had a flick-book flying sparrow in the corner :) You can’t get that on a Kindle!!

Have just ordered a second copy for one of my sisters xx
