Excellent
Light and very fast auto focus. Silent in operation. Sharp like all the 18-55 Nikon. This will be great for video use and works great on my D7200. Got the non VR version as Vr can't be deactivated on D7200. Love it thoughRead full review...

Lightweight with great features
This is a super lens. AF is rapid. It is a bit odd to get used to the button that extends the lens into the starting position (18mm) from the smaller storage position. This is fine because I walk with the camera ready to shoot, not with it in a bag. I like that being an AF-P the IS is 'in camera', no external switch that for me would always be set to ON, I'm not a tripod user, so fewer mechanical parts.
It's very small and light, but then my goto lens is a 300mm.Read full review...

Nikkor DX Lens
This is not the standard kit lens you get when purchasing a mid range Nikon camera. This is an older version and not compatible with most of these cameras.
However, I bought this to marry up with a D5300. It does the job as described.Read full review...

Quiet & lightweight
Does not work with a lot of the older cameras or even some relatively new models so beware when buying this lens and check with Nikon first.
The lens however gives very good results on the cameras it does work with, it's lightweight and low cost so is not a financial disaster if dropped, but don't expect it to work afterwards.
The build quality is cheap, although as I said the optical quality is very good for the price. Read full review...

Good quality and design
Very compact when in locked mode. It is light and easy to use and carry. A perfect everyday lens.

Cheap but decent lens
If you know how to make photos and postprocess them you will be satisfied in most cases. CAs are on the high side but can be cleaned in most cases. Bokeh is not to rave about – usable at 55mm at 5.6 and too nervous otherwise. I publish my own books and sometimes use that lens as well…Read full review...

Not just a kit lens
I don't accept that the 18-55mm is just a kit lens, I bought my D5500 body only and gradually introduced lens to suit my needs, but something was missing, an intermediate lens in between a Nikon 18-140mm and a 50mm prime after much research and trial I found the new AP version of the 18-55mm it gives a little extra when used for portraiture and occasionally an alternative landscape lens, altogether it gives me choices when lining up a shoot, the bonus is the price, genuine Nikon with 3 years warranty, where else would you go ?Read full review...

Excellent "All Purpose" Lens
Limited to modern camers at this point in time. Hopefully Nikon will provide an update for older cameras in order it can be used with them. All in all though a great all purpose piece of kit.
