Right tool for the right job

I agonised for ages before buying this. There are many cheaper alternatives that either use a cam wheel or D-clamp mechanism to grip the tie rod, and an off-centre 1/2" socket to turn it. They have varying reviews, and I reckon there are many that look the same but which are cheap "fakes". I was also concerned that the torque rating specified in the workshop manual would be affected by tightening the tie rod from off-centre. Anyway, long story short, this did the job with a breaker bar and absolute minimal fuss on my Toyota. It's bigger than it looks, so I only needed a single 1/2" extension bar to bring the breaker bar clear of the wheel arch. It's pretty meaty too - not going to break with the occasional DIY use it'll be used for. The box it all comes in is better than I was expecting too, with a proper hinge and everything.
