Another competent space-rock album from Hawkwind
The previous album and this are similar-sounding to the point they could've been a double album. This one's a decent rock album if not a patch on Hawkwind's 70s-early 80s output. Both the latest releases are superior to some of weaker releases of Hawkwind's 35 or so studio albums.
This one's rich with space rock imagery in the lyrics and rather attractive insert and cover art. 80-something Dave Brock writes around half the tracks and many are the standard riff-laden fare, though some nice instrumentals are included. There's more emphasis on keyboard work on the last few albums than before, but it's often atmospheric and attractive. Only one track features the screeching sax that used to be more frequent when Nic Turner was around. Not great but good enough.
