Excellent, easy-to-use and unintrusive product for understanding sleep apnea issues
We bought this due to my wife's poor night-time breathing issues. We had been unable to get a sleep clinic appointment so we took the step of buying our own O2 monitor so we could assess her condition. We have not been disappointed. It is easy to use - practically plug-and-play. You fit it and it starts recording. You remove it and it stops (need to keep it charged of course during the day). You will need the PC software that they recommend which allows you to download the data from the monitor. The downloaded sessions are all date/time stamped. It will then produce quite a detailed sleep report (graph of O2 and pulse) for each session which also includes key statistics (e.g.number of times O2 falls by more than 3% or 4% etc). The presentation is surprisingly good and doesn't really require the user to convert the csv format for use in Excel, although this would be possible if desired. Obviously, absolute accuracy is impossible to gauge, but it is excellent for seeing trends and events, correlating pulse rate etc etc.
The sleep clinic will only provide a monitor for ONE night! This device has enabled us to gain far more insight into the problem as some nights are worse than others and once we have sufficient data and fully understand what the acceptable limits are, we will be able to review it with our GP and possibly get a consultation more quickly if that is deemed necessary. I can't comment on reliability at this early stage but at the moment I cannot recommend this product enough!!!Read full review...
