Brilliant, product, so much cheaper! Seems to do the same job as Brita filters, of which I have used for years. This is my second years using these filters & they are great.
Just follow the instructions given, by first soaking this product, which Brita also recommends, with its filters, or you can get black specs in your water jug.
The delivery & service from this company is excellent.

Water palaver!
Although tap water is filtered as effectively as the the brand leaders, the speed of filtration is extremely slow compared with the market leading brand. The brand leader would filter a full kettle of water in under 2 minutes, whereas this one takes over 10minutes!
Additionally, according to the instructions, each filter has to be pre-soaked for 15 minutes and then the water needs to be filtered twice prior to use before its ok to use. That's a minimum of 35 minutes before you can boil for your first cup of tea!
There's no presoaking with the brand leader, so it only takes 4 minutes or there abouts before your first cuppa! Each subsequent fill up is no faster to filter either, so to save time, we fill up as soon as the kettle empties!
None of this is mentioned in the description. So its very dissappointing. We bought 12months worth of filters (ie 12 filters), so that's a total of over 7 hours wasted waiting before we can boil the kettle for the first proper brew!

Poor water taste, over-fast filtration and is inclined to float
It's supposed to be a universal filter for maxtra etc. but doesn't sit deeply enough and is inclined to float and need pushing down into the holding area. As others report, water flows through so fast that I can't imagine that it's actually being filtered. Additionally, the taste is so akin to tap water that it doesn't make much sense to use these filters. Basically, while cheaper than the real thing, these filters don't do a good job. This is my second purchase of this product. Initially I had a bit of an issue with the time of the filtration process, it was taking for ever! An obviously significant alternative to the manufacturers more expensive alternative, provided it works somewhere near as well, right? Well, I am now on my third batch of 12 cartridges. I change the cartridge every 2.5-3 weeks (as opposed to every month) but only because I use the water jug more than most people and I like to keep the water really fresh/clear-tasting. This is better than maxtra
Although it's slowly flow the water through it I like it better than the maxtra filters, I tested both, and this so far is the winner, maxtra leaves dark small charcoals particles and the water could not call it filtered at all, also the maxtra filters leaves small plastic filaments, that's nasty... We bought a 12 pack of Filterlogic water filters. They take a tad longer to set up than the Brita filter, when we say longer, its a 15 minute dunk in cold clean water to start after that its the same scenario as the Brita filters only less money. I would reccomend.Read full review...
