Die Hard Trilogy - 5 Star THX Collectors Edition

Have finally managed to get my mitts on this box set after suffering with the 2 disk special editions of the films.
The definative collection of these film. The first two films are my favourite - Die Hard with a Vengeance - although a good action film - did not quite tick all of the boxes for me, personally. Would have to say the fourth film goes into the same category as the third film.
Die Hard: A classic 80's film. Not like all of those manufactured ones from back in the day. Great bad guys (got to love the dodgy haircuts), John McClane is a great character - not spouting off catchphrases, just sarcasm and has a penchant for talking to himself. One of a few films I can watch over and over again.
Die Hard 2: Released in 1990, this film has some quality action scenes in, although it doesnt quite get up to Die Hard standards in terms of suspense. Still, a whole bunch of terrorists this time, an imcompetent air port police cheif plus some army specialists are thrown into the mix. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable film.
Die Hard with a Vengeance: Came out in 1995 and is a non-stop action film without a doubt. However I don't personally feel that follows the same vein as the first two films. Some would say this is a good thing. Not I. However, the bad guys are nice and bad (including the accents and haircuts), McClane gets a sidekick in the form of Zeus (S.L. Jackson) - the banter between the two is great. Some nice set pieces, explosions etc.
Some excellent extras are on all of the films - if you like the films there are some great gag reels, deleted scenes, storyboards etc.
Oh, did I mention that it has been mastered in THX? Just so you can hear all of the those delightful explosions in perfect detail!
