Not one for the kids

Bill Hicks is not your average comedian with a string of one-liners, his humour is very dark and thought provoking, some people claim he is not even a comedian at all. One heckler shouted at him on stage 'we don't come to see a comedian and have to think' he replied 'where do you go to think? I'll meet you there!'
A U2 song had the line 'everything you know is wrong' and Bill goes about explaining this in great detail in all of his shows as he challenges and has alternative opinions about everything from governments and big business to sex and drugs and rock n roll.
Bill Hicks is not mainstream and his humour is not everyones cup of tea but if you find a lot of comedy bland and sterile then you may find this dvd a refreshing change.

Supremely Funny Guy

What a sorely missed comedian (and so much more) this guy is. This dvd gives a gret insight into the man, as he was seen by those around him. This was the first Hicks performance I ever saw.Bill was a master comic,this ain't some bloke doing one liners rather he was a gathering storm of truth and like truth it is savage,no stone of hypocrisy is left undisturbed,I don't often label anyone as a genius but this guy was.It is a messure of our ill divided world that this guy died so young yet a slew of right wing c***s,from Bush to Rush Limbuagh still breath and prosper...there is a lot of hero worship attached to the guy which he'd probably be embarresed but he just had the balls to say what he thought,the things we talk about,only in private,he spokee in public and was razor sharp.a unique,hilarious talent and sadly missed.Read full review...

The legend lives on !

I hadn't seen this dvd in quite some time.....what can I say......absolute timeless masterpiece, he covers issues which will never get old, religion, drugs, politics, sex, pop music and sexual goats, I never tire of watching this liberal open-minded comedian work, this man will go down in history, I only wish he were still alive so as he could give us a satirical comic overview of the terrible political powers governing today.Read full review...

I think this dvd is brilliant, timeless and thought provoking. Very well thought out clever comedy. A must see dvd for any lover of laughter.
