Maria McKee - 'Maria McKee'

As Maria emerged from the relative safety of 'Lone Justice' in 1989, she found herself some of the great all time protagonists of roots rock to help her with her 1st solo album ... including Richard Thompson & Robbie Robertson.
Apparently, Robbie used to come around to her house, armed with pens & paper to make sure she got down to some serious songwriting.
The result is a remarkable debut solo album, written mostly by Maria, with much of the same roots-rock feel of her Lone Justice albums.
My own favorite track is 'Panic Beach', which has the musical granduer and lyricism of an early Springsteen song but is apparently about the troubadour lifestyle of some of her ancestors.
