Fun puzzle with an extra activity

This puzzle was unexpectedly fun and challenging. All the pieces are the typical two ins and two outs, but they are weirdly shaped and the lines are often broken (adjacent pieces can be very different heights). The pieces fit together tightly and only two weren't completely cut. I tried markers on the finished puzzle but they are streaky. I think pencils or watercolour should work. Don't use acrylic paint if you don't want the pieces stuck together.
