I am very happy with everything, very well made tool easy to put/clip together, Pole has very well made easy release clips. delivery was dead on time, packed with bubble rape wich kept it secure and we'll packed. Engine get rather hot after 20min of use but thats expected, very good value for price for small jobs. Read full review...

Heavy weight, needs strength and TLC.

Having only used this 5-in-1 product a few times todate, I had several issues with the design of the main motor unit. Apart from the choke lever position being incorrectly stated on the ABS cover, it is actually covered by the sticker on the right hand side of the lever. The biggest problem is the location of the harness support lug. When moving from horizontal to vertical cutting, the harness twists the lug which then stretches the carburettor cable, making it dangerous to lower back to the floor with the attachment still running. It is necessary to move the lug to a position in front of the throttle handle to avoid this problem, which involves removing the throttle handle (but is quite easy to do with care). A further quality issue is that in order to change an attachment the unit must be in an horizontal position otherwise the splined shafts just fall out.Read full review...

Good value

When I ordered this I wasn't expecting a professional tool for everyday use. And after reading some of the other reviews wasn't expecting quality.
In my opinion there is a lot here for the money although basic it has everything needed get you going.
The quality of the unit itself is a lot higher than expected all the parts fitted together exactly all the tools cut nicely without any struggle.
The motor started and run as good as any higher priced unit.
I would recommend this set, for the price you get a good tool.
Please be aware of the engine, firstly it is large at 50cc and more powerful than many strimmers if you make a mistake could possibly be more unforgiving than others. Secondly as the engine is larger some jobs can be difficult due to the weight even with the support harness.

Overall great value

Was sceptical because of price but so wrong

As per title I was sceptical about purchasing this and expected a "so so" product. How wrong was I. I knew it was going to be heavy as anything with a small moped engine isn't going to be light. This goes for top end products costing hundreds more. In detail:

1. Instructions are terrible. However there are only a few screws and using the ebay pictures it is easy to work out how to assemble.
2. Started first time. Both subsequent hot and cold starts no problem on either first or second pull. The on/off switch is a bit plastic but works well.
3. Have used the hedge cutter with and without extension and cuts well. Perfect for my high hedges. Max cut is about 1cm.
4. Chain saw (once I the blade round the right way) works great especially for those hard to reach branches. Easy adjustment.

I haven't used the strimmer or bush cutter. Gloves, fuel mixer, funnel and glasses all basic but functional. Actually like the glasses as they are better than my expensive safety glasses.

Only poor point was the fuel cap didn't fit and was cross threaded (on the cap) from new. Hence fuel poured out. Contacted Monster Mechanics and the next day I had a new complete fuel tank! Was amazed. Initial deliver was also amazing. Great customer service ... one of the best I have seen.

Overall a heavy to use bit of kit but amazing value for money and excellent customer service from Monster Mechanics.

Versatile petrol garden multi tool at a really low price

Amazing piece of kit for the money, but it was cheap.
Firstly the pieces weren't so difficult to assemble, although the manual could be a lot clearer.
It all seems well made except the "start/stop" switch which is cheap & nasty & is easily turned off whilst in use. The throttle control is not too special either & becomes hard to squeeze as you get tired.
Starting is instantaneous - once you have worked out that the choke "on/off" marks on the plastic casing are wrong! The "cold start/run" sticky label is the one to take notice of & hardly any choke is required for starting & warm-up.
I have so far used the grass trimmer, hedge cutter & branch pruner chainsaw - the latter two with the extra pole. Everything seems to work well, although the tool is much heavier to use than my old 26cc model & uses a lot more fuel too - but it does have a bigger 52cc engine after all.
The heaviness & thirst will limit the length of work sessions - but that has it's plus points too!
Only time & use will tell if this was a good buy, but all the signs are encouraging.

Good product with a few issues

To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by the robustness of the product, as I was expecting something a lot more flimsy.

The engine is plenty powerful enough for anything I’ve thrown at it, which is quite a lot. Also it starts and runs fine, however the markings for the choke are a little confusing, as here are opposite instructions embedded in the plastic cover, and the label stuck onto the same cover. Follow the label sticker instruction.

I’ve used all attachments apart from the strimmer and they all work well, so I can’t imagine there being too much of a problem with that too.

The issues I mentioned are quite minor really, but they can be annoying if they are unexpected. Firstly is with regards to vibration. The tool is understandably fairly heavy anyway, but also vibrates quite strongly too. For instance when using the brush cutter, I have to use in short bursts as the vibrations through the shaft is unbearable if the throttle is left open. No great problem though, as this method hasn’t prevented me clearing a massive area of brambles and thick weeds with ease.

The only issue I’ve found truly annoying, and would make me think twice about recommending it, is the connections along the shaft itself. It’s hard to describe, but where the tools and extension pole connect, they do so by slotting into one another, and the a sprung connector clicking into a hole on the inserted pole to hold it in place. Once located, you close the cover and tighten up the bolt. Unfortunately, and especially if you over tighten the bolt, the inserted pole can get jammed, and become very difficult to remove. On my first use, which may have been caused by me over tightening, I got completely stuck. However it is possible to detach the locking mechanism by simply unscrewing it, then it disassembles easily. Just make sure you note how it fits back together, and take care the spring doesn’t launch off into the undergrowth!

Overall, I am very happy with the tool, as it has enabled me to to clear some major undergrowth that comes from the copse my property backs onto, and the local council no longer clear. The issues may be a common problem, as I’ve read similar things on reviews of tools made by other manufacturers. But they can be kept to a minimum if you are aware of them.

Hope this review is of some use, and I will stop there before it turns into war and peace!

Very good for the price.

While I have no experience of this type of equipment I found it very easy to use. Having the chainsaw further away from the operator makes it a lot safer.
I expect there are more expensive versions but this does the job for me.Read full review...

Heavyweight Strimmer

First off; the instruction manual is worse than useless; There is plenty of health and safety type advice- along the lines of "dont put you fingers in the hedge cutter it will hurt" but precious little useful information.

Changing tools is very awkward as the fit onto the shaft is very tight- I have had to "sand the fittings down so They can be removed without resorting to a mallet

Removal and replacement of the strimmer head- to replace the line - is extremely difficult- I guess it would be fine if you have 3+ hands- there doesnt appear to be any positive locking system- its all a bit hit and miss

The unit itself is very heavy and tiring in use- the support straps are difficult to adjust and -again absolutlly no information in the manual as to how they fit together.

Overall the fittings are quite flimsy -although I've only used the hedge trimmer "in anger" and it flexes away from when asked to cut anything over about 3mm diameter

A typical case of "you gets what you pays for" although I would still expect a useful manual

Cant recommend this at all

Brilliant Everything Solid. With thepower Yoy Need

great device, bit tricky when using extension. first time it locked until it cooled down. but Power, Not a problem. Its got the power to cut-strimmer(with better cord- Only go to 3mm) then fantastic. hedge trimming power on cut, e.g. long reach with extras (strong blades) . great 5 in 1 multi-tool.Read full review...

Good value, overall good quality, but bit difficult to change the cutting head accessories

Bought this model as I didn't expect to need any larger engine. Seem adequate. Instructions are about OK, if you've handled a petrol garden tool before then they're not too bad. The whole thing is quite heavy as others mention. Best if you can use the harness, though not so easy depending on what you are cutting, e.g. a hedge rather than strimming grass.

My biggest issue is switching the cutting accessories. They are SO TIGHT and the clip used to lock them in is really awkward. Best bet is to lubricate with some 3-in-1 or something. Really this is the only thing against it, although the gloves, glasses, etc. are useful the are not high quality. However, I didn't need them anyway.
