Would that it were so simple

The cast is amazing, and you can feel the love and nostalgia for old Hollywood that went into the film. The song and dance routines from Tatum and Johansson are brilliant, as are the rather intellectual round-table discussions of the nature of Christ and Marxism. Where this struggles is to have a complete, joined-up plot. The film is best seen as a set of loosely related skits showing the quirky and eclectic day in the life of a 1950s studio.Read full review...
