Well worth the couple of quid ...

I Did not expected too much of it but it did much better than just a time out entertainment. It was cheerful, funny. You sympathise with the hero throughout - you're on his side and want it all to work out for him.The England football team playing in Euro 2004, and a half descent story line involving Danny Dyer's character trying to see the first 3 England group games (on their honeymoon) without his other half finding out he already had the tickets before they left.

Well worth the couple of quid ...

Not a great film

This film is a low budget one - and it shows. It's about an Englishman who marries an American girl and they go to Portugal on honeymoon, where Euro 2004 is taking place.

A very far-fetched story of how Dyer's character has tickets for all the England games and tries to go to he matches without letting on to his wife he has the tickets. You don't see any football action at all and he doesn't even mention the score or anything about the first match he has just seen against France. It's also a very slow going film and has a predictable ending.Read full review...

Disappointed

I brought this dvd as i LOVE Danny Dyer. However this has to be his worst film and takes weird films to a whole new level!
He should stick to the bad boy films that he is so brill at.
An odd film, would never watch again.Read full review...

The Other Half

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.Read full review...

The other Half

If you don't enjoy this film, then you are unable to see outside the six-yard box. This movie has a refreshing new look at the passion many people share for football. I loved the Commentators who offer witty annotations to the film. It looks like the film was made on a tight budget, but the story line is very strong and Danny Dyer is a convincing frustrated footry fan. Look out for the sexy Katie Comer - a star in the making. The previous reviewer that said the filmmakers should be ashamed should perhaps try and making a film of this scale himself - get real man! defintly one to add to the collection!Read full review...

THE OTHER HALF DVD

This was an enjoyable film.
The storyline was good, as was the background set (Portugal Euro matches),
but there was one annoying thing..... these 2 football commentators kept popping up to report on the story so far, which was a bit wierd. it was obviously all in line with the football theme, but i found it a bit annoying!
All in all though, i really enjoyed it, but then again, i only bought it cos the totally gorgeous Danny Dyer was in it!
And he doesnt disappoint!
He is his usual gorgeous self, and even gets his body out a few times!
Anyone who loves Danny Dyer should love this, just for him alone!
