Trailer makes a solid appearance.

After I had a various trailers and made two very bad experiences, this one seems to be good. Important hints to get a good trailer: Steel rim wheels, no aluminium as they don't last, and a T-shaped connector to the bike where the axle it connects to is parallel to the bike back wheel axle, not the 45 degree coupling. I had two trailers with 45 degree coupling and aluminium wheels, and they did not last. This one now has steel rims and on assembly it makes a very good impression. The only downside is the dark appearance: All black and red, hence difficult to see. I added some reflective stripes and small LED lights so it is visible as sometimes in the winter I run into the dark when doing my shopping trips on a late afternoon. Caveat: I did not make a real shopping trip with it yet, as it is still brand new. Read full review...

Surprisingly good trailer despite not being made of space-age materials

Smoothly rolls along, even if it hits a pothole in the road, due to the springy coupler attaching it to the bike. Comes with spare washers, circlips, and circlip pliers for the wheels/axles - unexpected extras at this price. It's quite wide, especially with the bars protecting the wheels on each side, but those bars can be left off. The bars, as well as the wheels, can be detached by pressing the relevant springy bits - no tools needed to fold flat for storage. Can hold a surprisingly large quantity of stuff - first time I used it I got a full week's shopping with room to spare. The weight of this taught me the need for lower gears to get up hills! The top cover is elasticated along all edges to simply stretch over the trailer, and the fabric sides fit over the frame with velcro, so if you have long or oddly shaped stuff to carry you could drop one of the sides to accommodate it, but remember to secure your stuff so it doesn't fall out the opened bit! The entire frame and the flat metal floor are painted black, and can be a wee bit rattly when it's empty. Yesterday I delivered a 22 kg item to a customer in Edinburgh from my home in Stirling, the route going north over the Kincardine Bridge, along the East Fife coastal cycle route, south over the Forth Road bridge, and into Edinburgh, all with the trailer on my racing bike (my mountain bike needs new chain and sprox, hence the ill-advised use of an old racer). This journey taught me (again) that the weight of the goods requires lower gears, and also that you need plenty of pressure in your bike's rear tyre. My racing 700c tyres, coupled with my over 100 kg fatness, meant that as my bike rose over bumps the rear rim bottomed once or twice. While the trailer bears all the load weight on its own wheels, its inertia can still exert an apparent downward force as the rear tyre rises to go over bumps. So plenty of rear tyre pressure, or a bike with fatter tyres are required to prevent pinch punctures. (This would apply to all bicycles with any added trailer, not just this one.) My return journey took me to Linlithgow where I boarded a train for the rest of the journey as I was knackered. The trailer only just fitted through the carriage doors to the designated bicycle area as I did not have the protective side bars on. But it's good to know it can fit on a train. A surprisingly good item despite its price.Read full review...

A Useful Little Trailer

The trailer was easy to assemble. It is robust and can carry quite a heavy load. It is more manoeuvrable than I expected; it follows the bike without any trouble. It is wider than the bike, but it can go through narrow gaps quite easily.
It folds into quite a small space.
Overall it is very good value.

Good product

Good product, easy to put together, though instructions quite vague. Sturdy, easy to manoeuvre. Can rattle on the metal base if there are only a few items in trailer. Overall good

Great bit of kit

Okay, the good bits. It’s large and well made. However it is heavy. But ideal if you want to try out a cargo trailer before investing a large sum on a high end cargo trailer. We love it.
