Not bad, Just hate the online software.

This book is pretty darn good. I got this for Chem 2 and I don't have any complaints about the book itself. Its pretty clear and concise and has a wealth of examples, tables, photographs, and clear writing. I just HATE the online Mastering Chemistry site, hate hate hate!!! It's so easy to overlook a question and you'd never know until the end when you see the final assignment grade, and the site doesn't explain the formatting fully (3 lp on a center atom, EXTEND the bond(s) length or you'll get it wrong!!!) when you draw Lewis dot structures completely and you can miss points easily. The survey at the end of each page is obnoxious and I can't see how many pages the homework is or how many points each is worth. But aside from that rant, the book is pretty darn good but not as good as Zumdahl's. Good for all types of learners no matter what method you use.Read full review...

Excellent Content but too expensive!

I just bought this book for class and really like it. It is easy to use and is full of useful content that helps me in my chemistry class.

The only negatives I see is that it is expensive (they charge way more than it is worth anywhere and the fact that it is very heavy.)Read full review...

Chemistry The central science 11e

I buy the international edition. The inside is exactly like the orginal page for page. I haven't read far enough in the book to know how good was the content, but for right now it's easy to understand. I had a lower level class of this and that book was very easy to understand compare to this one it is a little more in depth and a bit heavy to carry around like 6 lbs.Read full review...

It has the little things that count.

I love this book because it has many little additions that make using the book easier. For example, the answers to odd numbered problems are in the back of the book, and the pages are differently colored. Because many times I do the problem and then want to check the answer, this little difference in color saves me loads of time and frustration. In addition to that, it has practice quizzes throughout the book, and also a fantastic summary section. Some books don't include a summary section, and I've always wondered why. This one not only has one, but the summary is fantastic, and includes bolded words that were in the text.
Overall, I believe that this is a perfect book for the general college chemistry class.

good international edition

good product, can be used in US, lighter in weight, do not have major issue in the contain, the chapter review question about the same with US edition, there is down side of buying this edition, its very hard to resell at the end of the semester, due not too many student want to buy, but if we intend to collect the handbook for future reference, this could be a good buyRead full review...

good timing

Well, it was priced well and got here on time. However, it was NOT a hardcover and it was NOT the book it said it was. Yes, it was the chemistry book... but the international edition. While there is no difference in content, there is a $150 loss on my part because now I cannot sale the book back to my bookstore. And, it's a HUGE book (tons of pages)-without the hardcover (as advertised)it's hard to hold/transport.Read full review...

LoVe it.

I bought the international edition of this book. I must say that I was skeptical about the the differences that it might have form the U.S. version. After anxiously waiting for the book, I finally get it in the mail. To my surprise the international edition is exactly the same as the U.S. version(pages, text and all the picture). I highly recommend everyone to buy an international edition text books as they will save you loads of money.Read full review...

Very convenient format...

The edition I received was a PDF format on CD. This is missing the periodic table and other common element/compound tables on the covers of the text (but those are easily found on the internet). As for the text itself, it's a surprisingly easily and quickly read science text. Plenty of opportunities for practice of concepts and procedures along the way (with detailed solutions provided) allow you to check your progress.Read full review...

International Edition

I bought the 11th edition, International Softcover version of this book. It is identical thus far ( I am two weeks into the course) to the hardcover version. The solutions are all in the back and also a useful dictionary.Read full review...
