Does what it says
Quad core processor more than enough for heavy tasks such as gaming and good for the price, shame there weren't more of these available brand new and in the uk.

Still good ennough for office work
Faster CPU than some brand-new cheap laptops have in them. A computer fitted with one of these, 4-8 gigs of ram and a SSD still performs well in office work.

Upgrading my PC
I was looking at getting a replacement PC but decided to upgrade my single core CPU to multi core. Checked the motherboard manual and worked out which processors would fit, looked on ebay and somebody was selling a quad core that had just the right spec. Bid to win, it arrived within a day or so and was installed carefully. It was like getting a new PC! What is more, the new fan that came with it was quiet unlike the drone that I had put up with for 2 years! Despite a nominally slower CPU, going from a 3.2 to 2.66,, when multitasking, which is how I work, the quad core makes everything seem to work far faster! Excellent purchase and a fraction of the price of buying new!Read full review...
Very powerful.
This is an excellent processor and the item I bought was not overclocked so plenty of mileage left. Runs very smoothly and I will NEVER go back to a dual core (barring brain injury) because of the MASSIVE power improvement. I can now play Bad Company 2 extremely smoothly at MAXIMUM settings (along with GTX260 Core 216 55nm) which was virtually impossible with my E6420. Highly recommended especially as the overclocking potential is huge. Getting some faster RAM in order to do just that.Read full review...
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700, 2.66 GHz Q6700
Bought this Quad CPU as an upgrade to a Core 2 Duo for my Dell 9200. Performance definitely improved. I have not overclocked and see no reason to do so at present.
Installation was easy but you do need to ensure you put on the thermal paste to get good contact for heat distribution. I used the existing Dell cooling fan and heatsink rather than the Intel supplied one as I felt it was better.Read full review...
q6700 2.66ghz
This is a really good processor for gamers, overclockers or just regular users, with a 10x multiplier this helps overclock on board where fsb restricts how far u can go before the cpu restricts you as some mb's arent friendly with quads, noobs will find 3.2 reasonably easy but of course depends on mb used, however the downside is these get a lot hotter than the new 45nm quads i.e 9400, 9550 etc. but the q6700 can keep up with most of these big guys giving u better bang for buck, a highly recommended cpu for all users.Read full review...
