Big splurge to get these, had been using tennis balls and the plastic nubbed ones. These are quiet, beautifully clean, I am going to add my own lavender oil to them. Not Worth The Hype!!!
Purchased these balls & it's not worth the hype! I don't use fabric softener (I use vinegar) and I've noticed a lot of static cling😳! It doesn't shorten the drying time either.

I am a big fan of dryer balls, not only do they help your clothes dry faster, they reduce the amount of energy you use, they are good for the environment and the list keeps going. Since i started using dryer balls my clothes are softer, dry quicker and feel great when I wear them. If you miss your laundry smelling like fabric sheets or liquid consider adding essential oils, you can find instructions on line for the best way to do that. These work great. I use them in our front load washer to help add agitation to get my cloth diaper clean. I also use them in the dryer! Great Balls
This is the first time I have tried these wool dryer balls. I just moved to a condo and have used tennis balls to dry my down jackets in the past. They are soooo loud in the dryer! I was looking for a quieter alternative (already getting ready for winter) and these are just what the doctor ordered. They are about the size of a tennis ball and fairly quiet. They do smell like sheep the first few times using but that goes away. After the first use in the dryer and noticing the odor, I put my dryer balls in the washer for a full wash cycle, it seemed to help. I wanted to wait until I used these several times before reviewing and I am very pleased with my purchase! There are so many unhealthy chemicals that we come into contact with everyday and these balls allow me to eliminate fabric softener from that list of harmful chemicals. They help keep everything fluffed and things dry faster. When using them with sheets, everything doesn't end up making a ball in the corner of the fitted sheet...they keep everything moving around in the dryer. No need to ever buy fabric softener for your dryer again.
Amazingly simple. Eliminates wrinkles in the clothes dryer. Seems to be long lasting, but other users have told me they can wear out in a year or so, which still amounts to substantial savings over softener purchases. Also eliminates the fire danger of softener depositing wax which led to an internal fire in my dryer several years ago, which is the strongest reason never to use liquid softerners. Softeners are basically wax which may make items softer, but makes towels unable to dry one's skin or abrade off the top skin layers which is the reason we humans shower.
